If you're 5ft 2 how many calories do you lose on?

I really can't stick to 1200 now I'm older. Just trying to get a sense of what works for others. I do approx 10,000 steps a day but no other exercise and I'm mid 40s.

I find intermittent fasting is the only way I can shift weight now. I stop eating at 7pm, and start again at 11am.

1600 maintain
1400 lose slow
1200 lose quick but not worth it as you can’t go lower when the body gets used to such low numbers

i can lose on 1800 when I am running though

yarnbarn · 28/10/2024 16:16

I think it depends what you weigh. I'm 5' 2 and can lose easily on 1800 but I am almost 20 stone. If If I were 11 stone and looking to lose I don't think 1800 would do it

LittleNincompoop · 28/10/2024 16:28

I'm 10stone3 so a whole stone over my pre-children weight. I'd be happy to get to 9.8. But I just can't seem to manage it. ATM I use my Apple Watch to tell me how many kcals it thinks I've burned and I try to aim for 200 under that (v happy to lose
Slowly.) but....I expect I'm ruining with the number of days I break even.

I@LittleNincompoop

I'm 5ft 2 and mid forties aswell

Since April I've managed to lose a stone and a half by eating around 1100-1200 calories a day. I've been losing 1lb a week on that.

The last few weeks I've fallen off the wagon badly and have gained 4lb back.

I know what my body needs to lose but I go through phases where I crave everything bad and have had a few weeks like it.

The food noise has been horrendous.

I use MyFitnessPal to log absolutely everything that goes in my mouth and if I sway off of it for a few days I lose my way.

If I ate 1300-1400 calories a day I wouldn't lose anything.
I do have an auto immune disorder and have to take thyroxine for it so my weight loss is always slower but it does come off

I have a job where I'm stood all day but not necessarily getting the steps in so I've been going for a walk after work but the last few weeks where the weathers changed I've lost momentum so that hasn't helped

It's so depressing isn't it? 1100 is so hard and doesn't allow you any room for pleasure :-( I used to eat 1100 every day for years but I just couldn't do it now.
