How to eat more protein

I keep reading I should eat more protein to help lose weight/maintain muscle but I’m struggling for ideas behind chicken or salmon for dinner.

I think what you are eating sounds like a good balance @New2thisshizzle , it's probably just about choosing a good high protein option with the kinds of foods you are having. So for breakfast things say:

Greek yogurt (Fage type) 11.5 protein per 125 g
Skyr 13g
Quark 15g

40g porridge oats - 4.4g protein, 3.3g fibre
100g (two thin slices) rye bread 5.2g protein, 7.7g fibre
Granola about 6g/3.5g per portion
Hovis Granary Wholemeal (2 slices) 9.3g protein, 6g fibre
45g All Bran 6.3g protein, 12.1 fibre

Pears - large conference pear = 5.5g fibre
Berries (80g) - 3g fibre

What I ate yesterday: 1600 calories, 82g carbs, 90g protein, 32.7 fibre, 8.5 portions of veg/fruit.

Breakfast: 4x Ryvita with soft cheese, two boiled eggs, cherry tomatoes

Lunch: Hot smoked Salmon and avocado salad

Snack: Quark

Dinner: Pancetta and bean stew (BBC Good Food recipe, I used streaky bacon and more than the recipe said, plus more carrots!) with wholemeal bread.

Yeah, it's definitely possible to overdo it.

Best to see how your stomach reacts to certain foods as well- happy gut, happy everything.

I sometimes have a bit of All Bran but it is quite the fibre motherlode so I wouldn't have say, pears with it. 🙂

Edited

Oh gosh me neither!

I like your protein and fibre shake, do you find the quark bitter?

Do you mean full fat milk?

I would prefer savoury so I suppose I could put watercress or someting like that in it, with perhaps cucumber or prunes?

Hi, no the quark isn't bitter and there are a few sweet things in there but mostly natural sugars. I don't have it very often but it gives me a lift after the gym sometimes, or before if I haven't eaten.

Eat the protein element first, and have the fiber as an extra.

Breakfast, bacon and eggs.
Berries and greek yogurt if you are hungry between meals.
Lunch, steak with a fried egg, and a side salad if you are still hungry.
Dinner, grilled salmon and a side salad or veggies.

What suprises me is that when I eat more meat, I am much less hungry.
I also eat tinned fish, sardines, mackrel etc as a snack now. And always have boiled eggs in the fridge.
