No appetite after stopping wegovy

So, I have been taking wegovy for nearly a year. Have had to stop due to cost. I'm not complaining, but my appetite has not returned after stopping wegovy a month ago. I would happily go with no food all day. Anyone else experience this? It's like how I used to be pre kids - I can literally go a whole day without wanting food, and then even at my evening meal I am picking at things and can never finish my meal. Slightly concerned about this tbh.

Mine took about three months for my appetite to return. The half life is long.

Okay. Thanks for your experience.

Did you also undertake (the mandatory, if they are a genuine provider) food counselling and dietary advice?
The wine is not a major issue - although less would be better. But you should be following the original dietary advice that you were given and the exercise and mental health support that should have been given.
That will help you to maintain at the least and possibly lose more under your own steam.

There's no mandatory guidance - the phrase itself is an oxymoron!

I was with boots and yes there's help and advice if you want it but nothing madatory

I just read the Mounjaro info today and it said it takes 30 days to leave your system so it might be about to change.

LovelyTeePee · 27/08/2024 22:23

Did you take mounjaro? Anyone else has experience of wegovy and mounjaro? I have read that the latter is even more effective. Although wegovy really worked for me.

Just to give you an idea of my daily intake. I manage a plain slice of toast around midday with a coffee. Then pick at a couple of slices of cucumber in the afternoon before attempting an evening meal. Tonight I had half a can of tuna, a cup of salad with balsamic vinegar and two new potatoes. And nibbled at a slice of water melon leftover by my youngest child. I struggled to finish my meal. I drink plenty of water and tea (black decaf and green tea). And a glass of wine (most of the time I end up pouring half of the wine away, which is unheard of for me lol).

Omg that’s like the dream

Funnily enough pre kids I never had much of an appetite but after my first my appetite definitely increased. I was breast feeding non stop so put it down to that, but even when I stopped breastfeeding (after 1.5 years) my appetite matched my husband's...who could always eat a lot without gaining weight. So, I would say my appetite resembles how I used to be.

I'm not complaining.. I would rather be like I am now compared to how I was pre wegovy, but a bit surprised that I haven't reverted to my old ways. But my hubby is a little worried and keeps trying to get me to eat more, which I really can't do.

Well there should be. It's part of the agreement that the pharmaceutical company has with the supplier. Someone (probably the pharmacy) is skipping steps to satisfy customer need.
