Why can’t I stop eating so much even though it makes me feel like (literal) shite!

Urghhhh

a few months ago I was doing well getting down towards a healthy BMI by eating healthily and roughly in a calorie deficit but not too strict as I know i have a bad relationship with food and restricting etc and tend to then overeat and binge.

Its like although I was happier and more confident in my body, I have then self sabotaged and now just eat more and more each day… despite promising myself that tomorrow will be the day I make a fresh start.

Another night after sitting on the loo feeling uncomfortable and bloated, upset stomach due to the bad choices… feeling shit about myself and my willpower and my body…

I know no one can fix this… but I just feel like I’m in my flutes now and that means for more than half of my life I have not been in control nor happy with my body and my eating. Surely I should be able to grow the fuck up and just make better choices and feel better and healthier? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Really tried this week and did 35000 steps. Trying to do more walking and now back on my running machine. I have started to listen to a podcast . I get weighed Monday as I am following nutra treat where I have written everything down. Those that want a buddy let weigh in Mondays . I think I have lost nearly four pounds come Monday . Feel better for cutting out bread

Mushy monster I will diet with you but we need to do Monday weigh in if that's ok with you. Anybody else is welcome to join

I am going to do some meal planning and prep later today and brave the scales on Monday.
The important thing for me is to not go full on as I know that way I will self sabotage and pass the fuck it button.

Slow and steady for me , as long as I see a.loss I will be happy.

There was a comedian who struggled with his weight…one line stuck with me: ‘I’m not done eating until I hate myself’.

I can only speak for myself, but I found that I was over eating and constantly thinking about food because I was always dieting. The moment that I stopped dieting and gave myself permission to enjoy all of my favourite foods, I stopped over eating.

A few years on and I’ve lost 2 stone, I don’t have cravings, don’t over eat, and don’t really think about food at all.

For me, the restriction and food scarcity mindset that dieting brings made me overeat.

@buttercupcake I have not dieted for years and have put a lot of weight on so really need to get handle on it. However I do agree that the mindset of restriction is difficult to get right and can cause a lot of issues.

Sadly left to my own devices I eat a lot of crisps 😁
