YouTube workouts I can do

I'm trying to get back into exercise to aid weight loss. I used to do cardio one day (treadmill running because the treadmill has a bit of a bounce and is easier on the knees) and full-body strength training the next day.

I'm finding it hard to find any videos I can do. They all have jumping or lunges, which I cannot do because my knee is still not fully recovered from an undiagnosed injury.

I can do squats. I have a kettlebell, dumbbells, and an exercise mat. I'm very unfit currently and overweight and I'm, also limited on time so would prefer workouts that are 30 mins or less.

Does anyone have any favorite workouts they care to share?

Nobadaddiction have specific no jumping workouts. Their free YouTube workouts are excellent

My knee has been playing up a bit lately (old meniscus injury) and I just search YouTube for knee friendly workouts, you can even search and include the terms 'no squats, no lunges' I have found plenty of content.

popsugar fitness have a range of low impact cardio ones which I like. Can be a bit cheesey in places but a good variety

Thanks. I'll try that.

I can do squats. Technically, I can do lunges too but they really hurt so I've not been doing them. I hope, eventually, after enough squats, my knee will be strong enough again to do lunges. I do remember being them very effective for building strength and tone.

I do exercises that are mildly uncomfortable on my knee, eg. going upstairs and squats. I've no idea if that's the right thing. There's a massive waiting list for physio and my GP has been less than helpful.

Grow With Jo videos are amazing.

I'm very overweight and these videos range from complete beginner to intense.

I do a lot of the walking workouts to get my steps up ☺️

@Frequency can you try slow jogging or niko-niko pace? There are short Youtube videos explaining the technique. You don’t need to have any prior running experience, for a beginner the pace will be slower than walking

I used to run a lot. Running is not really my issue. I'm happy to start again (slowly) on the treadmill (mostly walking with a bit of slow jogging to start with).

I alternate (or I used to) running with strength building and it was the strength-building exercises I was struggling with. I seemed to be spending half the video marching on the spot or squatting while the instructor was doing various lunges or jumping jacks.

My knee is much, much better than it was. To start with I couldn't sleep for the pain, much less walk, now I only feel slight discomfort if I'm doing something like squats or walking upstairs. Going downstairs hurts, I think I land too hard on my knee so I don't do that. I use the lifts to go down and walk back up. If I feel any pain on the treadmill I'll stop.
