Has anyone managed to shift a stubborn tummy?

And is it the standard calorie counting for the win?

I've always had quite a big tummy, even at my smallest size 12/10 years ago. I used to work with young children and they'd ask if I was pregnant.

I've now had children, I'm a size 16 and my tummy is massive. I just seem to carry my weight on my front. I'd like to lose weight and get fitter so I've started running and conscious that I need to smarter up my eating habits but wondering if there is anything specific I can do to shift my tummy weight?

I feel totally overwhelmed by all the advice on SM regarding weight loss and have a feeling that calorie counting is the answer?

If you carry your weight in your front, it's worth building up your core strength. You might have diastasis recti. See a physio even for just one session to find out what exercises you can do.

More muscle makes you burn more calories naturally too

Mine is smaller but you can’t spot reduce certain areas and it’s been the last thing I lost on my body. I did calorie counting and weights and walking overall. You don’t have to religiously count calories it doesn’t suit everyone but I know now what I am eating and it just helps to know what I am consuming and making better choices. Pilates and weights has been good for me too. And stopping drinking alcohol pretty much!
