So annoyed at barely any loss on meal replacement

Has anyone else tried meal replacement (exante type) and not lost much?

Been on meal replacement for a little over 3 weeks and have barely lost anything, was referred by my GP and am doing a fully supported plan with a coach who just keeps saying I'm 'doing well'.

Absolutely 100% sticking to it, occasionally skip a shake because I'm not hungry and/or can't face it, doing exercise daily. I have PCOS and loosing weight is so hard, the only time I've lost a substantial amount was eating 500 calories a day and exercising excessively (which caused medical issues so won't be repeating).

I'm so frustrated, I've heard from other people who have done the exact same plan and lost a stone or more in the first 3 weeks and I'm just barely scraping 1-2lbs a week.

I'm miserable, not enjoying the shakes or soups at all. Genuinely dreading 'meal' times. I want to be healthier so badly but it's so demotivating when just nothing works to shed the weight.
And to top it off a fucking horrible kid at a soft play pointed at shouted 'you're so fat' so super low rn.

I am sorry you are finding this hard and some horrible child shouted at you. What I hear in your post is that you have lost weight at 1-2lbs a week but not as much as other people which is upsetting you, I think the context is important, you seem to have lost weight just not as much as expected? 1-2lbs over 3 weeks is between 3-6lbs? This is still a loss, I would try to focus on the positives that there has been a loss. You could also try measuring yourself with a tape as you may have lost inches in the meantime

I think these diets are extreme and harsh, it takes a lot of determination to stick at them I am not sure I could do it myself but weight loss is a slow, boring, hard journey and it takes time for some people it’s not as fast because we are all different. My DP lost 8kg in the same time it took me to lose 1kg, and for me to lose 8kg it took about 3 months not 3 weeks! it’s not fair sometimes but we are all built differently. Don’t give up

You must not skip shakes/meals because then you would not be consuming enough calories and that would hinder any weight loss. Are you drinking plenty of water? Are you still exercising excessively as this would also affect the weight loss if you are only having 500/600 calories with a VLCD.

Im surprised GP’s are referring to any VLCD plans unless they are also food based? The vast majority of people will end up weighing more than when they started with VLCDs they are completely unsustainable. I did them over 10 years on and off and spent thousands of pounds on them (over £1500 with skin and save alone!) and lost and gained the same 5 stone several times but ended up 2 stone heavier in the end than when I started 12+ years ago. The groups on Facebook are full of the same people doing it over and over again. I know of only one person they worked for, she did it once and then took up running marathons so the weight stayed off.

Has the GP done blood tests to check your thyroid or other tests to see why you are not losing weight? Do they have other referrals they can offer? What is your BMI?

They are referring yes, there is an Oviva one at the moment for people who are diabetic where I live. You are meant to have coaching to reduce the regain by slowly reintroducing foods once there has been a loss. They are pretty extreme around 900 cals complete meal replacement for 12 weeks

Don't skip the meal replacements though. Thay actually hinders weight loss. If need be split them on 2 and have smaller ones throughout the day.

You mustn't skip otherwise you'll send your body into panic mode "there's a famine, hold onto your fat".
I'm hearing from you that you've lost a hefty percentage of one stone. That's great.
Let the others stay in their lane and keep steering yourself merrily along yours.

Skipping the shakes are the issue here...
