Weight keeps creeping on as I’ve hit mid 40’s. And it’s sticking for sure and finding it really hard to get it back off. Tried various diets and exercise and finding it tough to stick at it with so minimal results. Anyone had similar and found something that works more successfully?

I used saxander. 3 stone later I feel much better . I stopped the medication over 6 months ago and I have not put any of it back on .

Yes I crept up to 59kg early 40s

I hit the gym, five times a week spinning mainly, and reduced my calories down to 1200 a day. Down to 55.4 kg after seven weeks.

I am in my fifties and am finding that I need to eat far less calories than I used to just to stay at the same weight. It’s not fun.

I've had the same and have just lost ten pounds using My Fitness Pal to track calories and protein/fat/carbs. I worked out my maintenance calories, which is scarily low, using a tdee calculator that was recommended on here. I eat a ton of 0% greek yoghurt, which fills me up and is high protein. I try to walk 10000 steps a day. It's hard work and slow progress but it's happening.

I’m losing weight with Mounjaro. I’ve lost 25.5lbs in 9 weeks. But you need to be obese to access it (BMI over 30). No side effects (after getting used to it) but it’s very expensive (£190 per month).

Thanks just classed as overweight so probably wouldn’t apply to me. Would like something drastic though as finding it hard work and feel nothing is working.

Ugh am the same. No matter what I do it's not shifting (and I'm an expert dieter so I know when I'm not doing it properly) and just maintaining at the moment is a nightmare! I am looking forward to Peri being over so I can get a bit of stability, even if it's at a higher weight than I would like to be.

You’ll be losing muscle which reduces your calorie requirements. I’d get to the gym or do weights at home. Increase your steps and cut 300 calories from your diet a day.

redfacebigdisgrace · 01/05/2024 06:21

And keep your protein high.
