Mounjaro with pre-existing gallstone?

Does anyone have any experience of using Mounjaro with gallstone/s? I have a fairly large gallstone and the surgeons are happy to remove my gallbladder, but ideally I need to lose 3 stones (my BMI is over 40). I get occasional attacks of biliary colic, but so long as I avoid large portions of super fatty/greasy foods I generally don't even know it's there.
However, I've been on every diet/shake etc out there and always struggled with weight loss. HRT has added an extra stone over the past year.

All of the pharmacy sites I've looked at exclude me if I declare gallbladder problems. My area does not have a Tier 3 weight loss service, and the neighbouring area do not prescribe weight loss medication as part of their Tier 3 service.

I was really hoping that I could use something like Mounjaro to turn off the 'food noise' to help me lose the weight!

Thanks - I've done that - I didn't want to derail that thread, but can see it's really active 😀

My BMI was 41 and l had Gallstones removed in an emergency.. via endoscopy..l had inflamed and infected gallbladder and jaundice and was in hospital on antibiotic IV for two weeks..
Two weeks later they removed my gallbladder.

If the pharmacies are excluding you then this is really the issue here, as it is clearly contraindicated and you are deemed not suitable for the drug no matter what route you take, as like you say it isn’t on the NHS - but the same contradictions would apply to you even if it was surely.

Only a specialist who knows your medical history could make this decision but with anything there comes a risk and the risk could you end up with emergency surgery instead of elective. The problem with the GLP-1’s is that they are directly linked with gallbladder disease, regardless of the diet you eat while taking it. most people (I’m aware not all) on ozempic do not eat large meals or excess fatty foods as they can’t stomach it due to side effects

I’m not sure of the exact reason but I believe the delayed gastric emptying might be relevant. I had 2 x horrible gallbladder episodes whilst on ozempic and eating a very healthy, low fat, low carb diet. The delayed gastric emptying was my cause I believe as I was so bunged up, constipated plus also constantly nauseous from the food taking so long to exit my stomach that I would start off having a very bad reflux episode which would move on to hours of biliary colic which nothing would touch. If I bent over, I would frequently be sick in my mouth 🤢 and it was like this constant Bleugh stomach feeling.
