I didn't realise how much the little snacks were hurting me!

I'm a large lady. That's being polite. I'm 19st13lbs. By virtue of this weight, my maintenance calories are 2600.

I'm eating at 1800 odd, and have been really frustrated that I wasn't losing weight. Surely an 800 calorie deficit should have the weight falling off me.

But I recently tracked all the extra snacks that "definitely can't hurt" and realised I was eating closer to 2500 a day!!! No wonder I wasn't losing. I was absolutely shocked by this and also a bit annoyed at myself because I was working hard in the gym and just not getting anywhere.

So yeah, just a rant. But now I'm taking berberine to kill the food noise and I'm eating in a proper deficit. Hoping to lose a stone in the next 50 days

With respect @cardibach not everyone does well on 2 meals a day

And not everyone can eat a decent brunch if they work

There is a lot of genetics in there as well as mental things which affect what the best eating pattern is for each person - sone people do better - eat less but more healthy- if they eat little and often - 4 small meals and snacks

Others actually do best in one big meal or less a day

It's about finding the pattern that works for yiour body

If you want to try fasting do it slowly. Start by moving breakfast later by a bit per day. That might mean having something you can easily eat at work. Eventually it will be so near lunch you can drop it. If you are used to having breakfast and just try to miss it you will get headaches.

Can I ask what a typical day of two’s meal plan is please @cardibach

I am also someone who needs to snack and I don’t think I can get by on Greek yogurt and berries and then do a morning at work. Honestly think I’d faint. Would love to wean myself off of snacks though. Snacks are my downfall.

Yoghurt and berries is no good for me either!
Brunch/breakfast

  • an omelette with lots of veg and also cheese
  • avocado on toast with feta and a salad
  • mexican scrambled eggs with feta and salad and a wrap
(all egs) Dinner
  • salmon and roasted veg with feta
  • chilli in a wrap
  • any Mediterranean type meal

basically lots of protein, good fats and whole meal carbs. Enough to be full.
I eat at about 11 and about 5 which is difficult if working. When I’m working I take something similar to the brunch for lunch then eat dinner when I get home

Don’t focus on the two meals. Focus on the healthy food. Enough protein, good fat and whole meal carb to be full. The number of meals is irrelevant.
