How much are you taking?
I eat it everyday anyway but it seems it might be good to have a tablespoon on an empty stomach of a morning to help inflammation & weight loss

I just take a couple of teaspoons as i do sometimes cook with it also. I read it helps with joints and as I have stiff/ painful joints thought it might help with this too.

"Taking a shot of olive oil every day could help with weight loss by "reducing body fat". An expert explained how it can speed up the metabolism, suppress the appetite and promote fat-burning. Diet is key when it comes to losing weight and choosing the right foods is important for weight loss and overall health."

A shot is 25-50ml. That's 206-412 calories. That's an insane amount!!

Yeah I mean this is a bit like the old wives tales of ye old yonder years. I’m sure it’s not going to actively harm you apart from pointless extra calories but there are so many other ways you can improve health and lose weight. It wasn’t long ago everyone was drinking apple cider vinegar and starving themselves silly. Starving yourself and drinking oil instead is not a balanced diet. The risks of this is your muscles and bone density - not things you want to exchange for losing fat as you get older

Just eat a balanced diet with small portions of oil included if you want to get the small benefits it offers. Are you very young, a teenager?

@Babyroobs yes was thinking of my joints here too 👍

Again. Balanced diet. Calorie deficit.

The olive oil diet
The cabbage diet
The various shake diets
The Keto diet
The Cambridge diet

All these things have one thing in common: a calorie fucking deficit.

Alright calm down love 😊

Does it work by speeding up movement through the bowel, like a laxative?

Fat slows down digestion so it would do the opposite if anything

I drink a shot of it every morning. A table spoon with turmeric, black pepper and lemon juice. My mum and grandmother both did it and I took it up a few years ago.

Ive lost a lot of weight, but I wouldn’t put it down to that.

This only works if you stop eating basically - 1 tbsp oil and 2 tbsp flax seeds blended with water and down in one. Fills me all day so I has 1 meal only - I lost 1 stone in 1 month. My bro uses 'bulletproof' coffee the same way which is coffee with 25g butter added. But you do not eat as well!

The patient I saw who had bulletproof coffee had pushed their cholesterol to 13.5.

It has good nutrients in it, but in and of itself its not going to 'help' weight loss

A table spoon is about 130cals and 15g of fat, if you're calorie and fat counting obviously this will take up some of your cals

Probably better to incorporate it somewhere into your meals.
