Best light mayo

What's the best lower fat mayo? I got Hellmans Lighter than Light but I hate the way it looks, so plastic and congealy.

Is the light version better or should I just stick to a decent mayo and have less of?

I like the Aldi lighter than light.

I feel your pain! I've found the Heinz Light Mayo in the squeezy bottle isn't too bad & around 40 calories a tbsp.
If you want to be super low, Aldi do a lighter than light mayo for 11 cals a tbsp. TBH it doesn't taste of much but it's OK for mixing or dipping stuff.
Nothing can ever beat the taste of full fat Hellmans from a jar though!

Depending on what you want it for, if it's making things like egg mayo or tuna mayo, using greek yogurt with a spot of mustard tastes pretty good if you make it, refrigerate it to let the flavours develop before you eat it.

It was fine for things like tuna and sweetcorn mixed with a bit of Greek yoghurt but I made tartare sauce yesterday and it just looked wrong!

Sorry, but I must disagree...

Batt's Light Mayo, the Lidl home brand, is better and a fraction of the price.

You need to look at the list of ingredients to see which is 'best', meaning least UPF, i.e. contains the least artificial ingredients, sugar, emulsifiers, etc.

I find full fat Greek yoghurt mixed with a little Dijon mustard and/or lemon juice is a very taste substitute for mayo, especially if you add some fresh herbs - parsley, dill, basil, mint etc.

Or a little bit of a nice vinegar rather than the lemon juice.

The Lidl lighter than light is so good I don't even think the calories on the side are true. It's just mayo with a different label!

In something like Tuna the Aldi one is fine (I think it's the same as the Heinz lighter than light really, probably made in the same factory) but I think if you're going to taste it then the proper stuff but a lot less is the way to go. A tbsp of full fat mayo surprisingly goes a long way taste wise.

No light mayo is going to be nice.

Eat this instead:

I've read that Sainsbury's own brand organic mayo is nin-UPF, however I've no idea on how "light" it is. I mainly use mayo in sandwiches which I've replaced with Greek yoghurt which actually tastes fine, surprisingly.
