Anyone had any success with it?

It's just a supplement you take to help keep you regular, I bit like Fibregel and other such products. I have IBS and take it sometimes. No weight loss benefits whatsoever.

Really?

Yummymummy2020 · 11/06/2024 15:56

Yes I found it great. I did lose weight but really I was making efforts in other areas too so it wasn’t that in isolation. I felt it was helping keep me fuller for longer and also helped keep me regular too.

CortieTat · 11/06/2024 16:55

It’s extra fibre, nothing else. If you eat well you will have enough fibre in your daily diet without supplementing. The official guidelines are 30g a day which is not hard to get from full-grain products, vegetables and fruit alone.

User1979289 · 11/06/2024 18:59

@ManxDi @Pleasedontputthatthere I took a dose (heaped dessert spoon mixed into a pint of water and knocked back) 3 times a day which massively suppressed hunger and gave me a feeling of fullness so I did not think about food except at planned meal times.
As PP say it is 'just fibre' but it is very filling when you take a significant dose. I found drinking 5-6 pints of water a day meant I could reduce my calories to 1100 without feeling hard done to. It also stopped sugar cravings in the evening.
It's been a great quick fix for me and also worked for my brother to lose 3 stone. There are 13 siblings in my family and all but me are diabetic or pre diabetic so we are very happy to do this.
I already have a high fibre diet @CortieTat but I find fruit and veg leave me ravenous after an hour or 2 unless I eat them with some fat - yogurt, salad dressing etc. I still ate a lot of these foods but the PH enabled me to control my hunger and eat a lot less!

Floralnomad · 11/06/2024 19:02

I think if you drink 5/6 l of water a day you would feel full without adding any fibre into the mix .

OMGsamesame · 11/06/2024 19:05

I'm astonished that it has this effect as I was given it with my prenatal supplements to avoid constipation and they surely wouldn't want to encourage rapid weight loss in pregnant women...

User1979289 · 11/06/2024 19:08

@Floralnomad nope, it made me hungrier. I know that it worked and saw this thread so wanted to share what helped. Different people have different issues with food - I do not comfort eat, I do not binge, I do not eat processed foods. My issue has always been a predisposition to carb addiction and being ravenous soon after eating. PH worked for me, because it creates bulk in my gut and make me feel full and also lowers my blood sugar.
I am not suggesting it's for everyone or even that anyone tries it. If people don't believe me, that's fine, but if it is helpful to some people like me, great! I have wanted something like this for 30 years!

User1979289 · 11/06/2024 19:09

@OMGsamesame you didn't have 3 heaped tablespoons a day did you? Have a reread 😂

Christ no. I'd have been shitting for Britain.

OMGsamesame · 11/06/2024 19:14

I've got loads of capsules left so if anyone would like them....

Gingernaut · 11/06/2024 19:15

I'm sorry?

You want to shit yourself to a smaller you?

With all the nutrient and electrolyte loss that would entail?

Fuck that.

NippyCrab · 11/06/2024 19:22

I'm laughing at the last comment 🤣 I've never heard of using PH for weight loss but it makes sense. I used to have it for one of the dogs.
If I have a proper balanced breakfast and I'm busy I don't feel hungry until 5pm (ish) anyway so I would be just literally shit slimming @Gingernaut

User1979289 · 11/06/2024 19:27

It doesn't give you the squits - no electrolyte loss etc 😂
Why is everyone on MN so melodramatic 😂😂

User1979289 · 11/06/2024 19:29

This is quite a common thing for Indian's to do - my uncle recommended it to me and he has used PH on and off for 70 years to manage his weight. The Indian brand Meta Mucil has guidance for weight loss on the packaging.

NippyCrab · 11/06/2024 20:39

I'm away to order some.

ManilowBarry · 11/06/2024 21:22

I take it before a long haul flight and the first few days in a foreign country, longer if necessary in case the change in diet upsets me and causes loose stools! It keeps everything firm but not hard! 😬
Sorry!
