Just that really. I have 4 weeks before my holiday so what would you recommend to maximise weight loss over the next 4 weeks?

You just have to grit your teeth and bear it for the first couple of days, then you get used to it. Drink lots of water.

Big bowl of chopped raw veggies in the fridge. Cucumber, radishes, peppers, carrots, cherry tomatoes, peeled broccoli & cauliflower stalks etc etc. Eat as much as you want.

Fasting. 18 hr fast (or 20 hr if you're brave). Only drink plenty of water, black tea or coffee when fasting. During your eating window, prioritise protein, veg, and fats, minimising carbs. Cut out refined sugar and processed food. This balance of food groups will stop your hunger becoming overwhelming when you are fasting. After the first couple of days you will notice a massive energy boost during your fasts, without feeling really hungry. Good luck!

Honestly I wouldn't bother just for a holiday.
If you want to lose weight, imo it's a long term thing.

I'm on holiday rn - would I have been happier if I was 4lbs lighter? No.
Does anyone I see on the beach care? No.
Am I bothered by anyone else's weight? No
Do my holiday clothes fit? Yes
Does DH want to be with me? Yes

This one piece of advice could replace most answers on the whole of Weight Loss chat really 😀

Honestly what's the point? If you're incredibly strict you might lose around 8 pounds with the majority being water. Barely noticeable, you won't feel any different but you will go absolutely wild on holiday and eat and drink all manner of shite.

Enjoy your holiday and worry weight loss when you come back.

Padlock the fridge.

I'm going to go against the grain and say it would be worth it, imo. In four weeks you can lose 8lbs and possibly more in someone that has a lot to lose (and obviously less in someone closer to a slim weight). Let's say someone goes a bit over and loses 10 or 11 pounds, that's the best part of a stone, that's quite a lot and definitely worth doing. And if the OP has more to lose, she could just continue with any progress when she gets back.

With all the caveats around only do this if it's the right thing, and the healthy thing and also that you don't necessarily need to diet...

Intermittent fasting has worked wonders for me - and I have tried quite a lot of diets and got 'stuck' at various points. I try to do 16:8. The 16 is mostly overnight, mornings are busy so really it's only 2-3 hours when I need to dig Into reserves of stubbornness and not eat. I normally eat between about 1-9pm.

I think I've lost weight (I can't weigh myself for lots of reasons related to mental health) but I feel much less bloated, clothes fit better and I feel better.
