How to target weight loss from the tummy area

I have lost 2 stone by calorie counting and exercising but it has come off everywhere else apart from my tummy which is where the biggest problem is. I've dropped a dress size on the top half but now my bottom half I have issues as around hips and waist is the same but I've lost weight in the bum and legs so current trousers are baggy around legs and look silly but I would nowhere near fit into the next size down

Is there anything can do to target weight loss in a specific area?

Well done on 2 stone weight loss.
I only got rid of mine when I got towards the lower end of my bmi, cut out all sugar and gave up alcohol.

You can’t target areas for WL unfortunately it depends on your natural shape. I lose all mine on the Top half and struggle on the bottom half. I also stopped alcohol and calorie counted, exercised and saw a difference in my whole body in time. I still have a way to go but if you keep going losing weight it hopefully will eventually come off.

I know they say you can't target weight loss but I found running helped reduce my abdomen and belly the most. In fact, too much as I miss my slightly wider hips which I think were more feminine!

Yes, a mixture of cardio and weights has got my waist down to 29". I still have a stone and a bit to go to my weight goal. Even when I managed to get down to 10lbs or so lighter than I am now in 2021 but wasn't doing as much exercise, my waist was still 2" larger than it is now. It's weight round my middle and diabetes risk which I'm really concerned about so I'm delighted.

So I think what you really need to do one way or another is increase muscle tone and lose fat.

It’s definitely down to your natural body shape.
I have to get to the lowest end of recommended BMI to get a flat - ish stomach. This makes me a very small size 6 / bordering a 4 in trousers at five foot 5 (around 8 stone).
I have no hips and a very short abdomen so any weight there looks excessive. Unfortunately at that size everyone tells me I look ill- but I can’t have a flat stomach at any other weight I start gaining directly on my stomach again. If I had slighter wilder hips and a slightly longer trunk I don’t think I’d have this issue !

I also had people telling me I looked ill at the weight that gave me a flat stomach. I've gone back up in weight a bit on purpose. It was fine to be that weight when I was about 20 but not in my forties, for some reason.
