If you're 50 upwards and are slim with a flat waist, please would you share your secret with me?

I've tried intermittent fasting, lowering my carb intake to less than 60grams per day, exercise my core (which does FA nowadays) & keep my calorie intake to 1300/1500 calories each day.

I'm willing to do anything aside of totally give up alcohol (I enjoy it too much).

Please share.

Lifting heavy, walking, no UPF

You could try the 'no carbs at bfast' diet. I have 2 eggs - cooked any way at all, but no toast etc with them. Strangely filling and def seems to reduce my waist size pretty quickly.

I'm 58 and slim but with a potbelly so joining you in solidarity OP

The pot belly is due to muscle sagging as we age . Most people have got a pot or saggy tummy by 50

DH works in patient transport. The very elderly he transports are always slim. The obese patients tend to be young with terrible health issues. There is obviously a big margin in the middle who transport themselves and he doesn't see.

@givememypassport

It did a lot of damage, unable to really eat a whole lot hence weight not going up.

On a bad day, when all around are tucking into steaks and I am having the soft food option,flat fish, roasted veg, I do sometimes bemoan my fate, but then I reason that I am above ground and seeing my boy grow up.

Honestly, the only over-50s I know with a flat stomach don't drink alcohol.

I know a few who do
And have flat stomach

I agree it’s partly body shape. I have always been slim but with a small pot belly. My belly only goes flat if I’m ill and not eaten at all. As I’ve got older I have to be more careful about diet ie not too much bread or pasta. I don’t find exercise particularly makes a difference. It’s just losing a bit of weight all over for me.

I'm 51. I'm doing a programme with a PT and it is calories in and calories out. I'm tracking food and fitness and doing a 500 calorie daily deficit just to get shot of a few pounds. I'm pretty active but walking the dog 10,000 steps a day wasn't enough without adjusting diet and doing gym sessions.
