Hi, please can I ask for some recommended reads about food / nourishing our bodies to listen to for inspiration while I make some permanent changes and get used to the new normal?

I'm after something quite new, not faddy but with up to date respected thinking about what is good for our bodies and making changes.

I know what works for me, and I just need to get on with it. What works for me is high protein, lowish carb, calorie deficit but not cutting anything out completely. I'd also be interested to read something modern about emotional eating.

Would be really grateful for any ideas of inspirational reads which might fit the bill. I don't have masses of time to read / listen.

Thank you

Everything Fat Loss by Ben Carpenter is excellent. It's a no nonsense run through of the science behind different diet approaches written in an easy to read way. It doesn't push any particular approach, but helps you to understand why you want to diet and how you can be successful.

Ultra Processed People - puts you right off most packaged food!
The last diet (emotional eating stuff although it's a bit like a workbook so not sure just listening would be as helpful)

(Slightly wildcard but I have found BJ Fogg's tiny habits (or James Clear's Atomic habits which is basically a summary of Fogg's work) hugely helpful as most of changing eating /exercise is about making new habits.)

Any of the books by Gary Taubes and Nina Teichholz.
