I'm currently 15st 9ibs and want to create healthy habits to lose 1ib a week over the next few months and reduce my stress levels. My plan is to:
Drink 1.7l of water a day
Limit calories to 1700 a day
Do half an hour of yoga/barre/pilates 4 days a week
Get out for a walk alone at least 2 days a week.

Does that sound like enough? I work full time with a toddler so time is limited.

Is the 1700 calories based on your tdee? What's your bmi now and what are you aiming for? Your plan sounds positive and any small change is a positive step.

I've lost over 2 stone by eating less junk, but eating after dinner which is around 5.30pm so I don't eat after 6pm. I eat porridge for breakfast with chia and golden syrup, Greek yogurt with chia, fruit compote and honey for lunch, homemade veggie soup and 2 of those part baked dinner rolls for dinner. I eat snacks if I want them but keep things within my calories allowance of 1550. I have a tunnocks caramel wafer every morning with a cup of tea after the school run. Nothing is off limits, no food is bad, I just aim for balance overall. Well, most of the time. I don't drink alcohol except at Christmas. I walk on average 50 miles a week because I don't drive. My BMI is 21 something now down from 26. I log everything on my fitness pal. I lose slowly and steadily and feel so much better now. My approach is to be healthier rather than diet.

Thanks @JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots - the 1700 is based on myfitnesspal, I think my tdee is probably a bit less but I find much lower unsustainable and I get into the mindset of 'I've gone over now, might as well go wild', that said yesterday I only had 1400 calories. BMI is just over 34, it used to be much lower but I had a baby, then a loss, so I wasn't taking care of myself, hence the small goals and healthy habits rather than a big diet and trying to fit in loads of intense exercise.

I'm sorry for your loss Flowers I think you are spot on with making small sustainable changes because going all out results in a big crash for most people. For example, I'm finding it hard after Christmas to stick to my good habits so this week now both dc are back at school is to focus on being in bed by 10 and drinking more water. If I manage that all week I'll be happy. The rest will follow.
