If you've lost a stone or more and kept it off: a poll!

Planning a new year weight loss campaign to lose a cosmetic stone and an half, and get down from BMI 25.5 to BMI 23.

I'm curious as to what's worked for other people, plus, I love a poll.

If you've lost a stone or two and kept it off for at least a year then what worked for you? TIA

One hundred votes is a nice round number. Any more?

I went from a 14-16 to a 10-12 in 6 weeks 3 years ago. I am now a comfortable 12.

I did Exante meal replacement shakes and the weight just dropped off. It was baby weight, though, so once I lost it, I just went back to eating normally (1500-2000 cals per day).

A mix of IF (16:8), reduced alcohol, and exercise (gym, walking and tennis).

I started in early January 2023 and had lost 3 stone 2 lbs by late August. Slow but sure.

About 3 lbs went back on just now in December with all the socialising, but I got back on the metaphorical horse yesterday and I will shift the 3 lbs over the next few weeks (I’m staying in tomorrow night, despite liking NYE normally).

I’d actually like to lose an additional 10 lbs in 2024 because my BMI is now about 25.2 - I think it’s doable but I know that this last part is sloooooow when you’re quite close to target.

Exercise, exercise, exercise. I do something every single day whether I take a class, run, walk/hike or do some pilates. My kick start was to up my calories on my Apple Watch and close the rings every day. I hate dieting so that's just what worked for me. I also don't eat breakfast just because, ewww. I hate breakfast. 😁

What is the 16:8? (Well done on your weight loss BTW!)

16:8 intermittent fasting / eat in an 8 hour window, fast the remaining 16. @FreshWinterMorning

I've lost 16kg in 5 months.
I ate less and moved more. And the food I did eat was calorie dense, full of proteins and fruit & vege.
I gave up alcohol, drank more water and stopped eating junk. If I didn't have the chocolate or ice cream in the house then I wouldn't be able to eat it.
Moving every day was and still is important. Even if it is just a walk, it keeps the momentum going.
