I’m 47, and need to lose about a stone and a half. I weigh 12.5stones currently and am only 5’3’

i just don’t know where to start though. I worked really long hours in a high stress environment and commute 2 hours a day too.

Im on HRT too, certainly my weight has piled on since being on that for the last couple of years

2 DCs and a DH too, so I essentially eat the same as them which is carb heavy. DH is a very ‘traditional’ eater.

I just don’t know where to start, I am time poor but keen to loose this weight.

I'm almost the same! 4 inches taller with an additional half stone (2 in total) to lose.

If you haven't got time for regular exercise, I would suggest a walk a day which you can incorporate somewhere in your routine.

Diet wise, I would try skipping breakfast, and reduce the carbs on your plate. For example, serve spaghetti bolognaise to family and eat no or tiny portion of the spaghetti but normal of the bolognaise.

If you're a snacker, try fruit or nuts.

I need to start too. I don't want to give DD weight of food issues so am trying to make small but normal changes!!

Good luck 🤞

I think every different person seems to find their own way to successfully loose weight depending on what works for them both physically and mentally.

For me calorie counting everything I eat is the only way I manage to loose weight. I think this is because it makes me think consciously about everything I eat and prevents me from “mindless eating” that I used to do a lot. I also found it helped identify 2-3 things that I regularly eat that are very high calorie (nachos with cheese) and also some easy swops that save a lot of calories (using lean mince instead of regular). I found some amazingly yummy low cal meals on TikTok - things like really interesting salads and panko breaded chicken. Finding a few proper tasty low cal options helped me feel satisfied after eating.

As well as calorie counting I also think focusing on health as well as weight was helpful. So thinking about wanting to be healthy and not just about wanting to be thinner.

For me I treat exercise as separate. I always exercise for health but have never found it useful in loosing weight, so although I exercise I think for loosing weight I focus mainly on diet.

Good luck - hope you find a strategy that helps you feel healthier and happier

Thanks all. I think my mental block is finding the time to prepare food, I struggle to find the time to get to the supermarket and so this often gets left to DH, hence the often unhealthy choices

I think I’m looking for a very structured plan to help me
