If I only eat breakfast and lunch will I lose weight?

I was thinking a typical day of:

8am: avocado on two whole meal toast with some chopped tomatoes or a poached egg on top.

2/3 pm: a homemade soup, or salad with plenty of fish/cheese/goats cheese - I have plenty of low fat and carb recipe's.

Snacks if needed - bananas, hard boiled eggs, 100g cashew nuts

Evening meal - not if I can help it, and never after 6pm.

Snacks - bananas, watermelon, blueberries, hard boiled eggs if really necessary - will try drinking water first.

Drinks all day Water and lemon and ginger tea. The chamomile in the evenings.

I've just stopping drinking heavily and I'm feeling okay, so hoping loose a lot of calories because of that anyway. Also doing some light walking daily, only about half as hour, as I'd like to focus on a menu plan first.

Are JUST breakfast and late lunch appropriate?

I find it much easier to have two meals but have brunch and dinner. I find it easier to have that overnight gap.

@Peacheroo if you live at 3 maybe you need more food volume in meals. But not enough to make you go to 9!
I have a binge eating disorder and this scale helped me to reframe my hunger. I am always number 5. Literally all day all night, there is something wrong with my hunger hormones I am convinced. I have learnt how to ignore 5 and identify when it’s 4-3 and eat then and completely stop eating past 7 most of the time now

Well done! You should be proud as it is so hard to reframe your mind. Your post really resonated with me, I also struggle and yes, 5 is always there. My body very much tells me when I'm hungry but I listen to my mind which tells me "I could eat" all day every day. I have taken a copy of that scale and will be using it.

Oh and I also think my hunger receptors are screwed but I watched a TikTok the other day about processed foods and it increased the hunger hormone and reduced the satiated hormone which I think is a great explanation and source of my problems.

@Peacheroo yes I also assume years of eating processed foods have really done a number on me! Thinking about the scale is mindfulness in itself. Good luck it is tough but you will become so much more in tune with your body. My binge eating was me going wildly from 1-9 during the day, staying between 3/4-7 is more manageable - I know I am going to eat, and when, and what so it takes a lot of the anxiety and worry out. Planning is key

I've had some success after 20 years of trying to diet, failing and slowly gaining weight.

I've given up alcohol and try to eat a diet which is low in processed food without going mad and giving up mayo etc and making it too restrictive. I eat 3 meals a day and don't snack.

The weight is dropping quite quickly but i'm not hungry and I look forward to my next meal but not desperate for it.

I can see where all the diets I have done before I over restricted then over compensated. I know everyone says it and it's true that eating well is better and more sustainable. I think your body needs certain macronutrients from food before it will drop the fat. I was always in the mindset of wanting quick results.

I was in such diet fatigue, reading threads here and on instagram, everyone has an opinion, drop carbs, eat more protein, fast, shakes, Noom, count chemicals not calories etc I felt like my head was spinning and so I just did nothing.
