Fantasy Festive Food

I'm a regular on the LOSE IT threads and last night started to crave Christmas things like nuts. I'm back on the wagon after falling off spectacularly in the summer once I'd had the all-clear from a cancer scare. I figured life was for living and let go of my more sensible habits and gained 3-4kg back. Not the end of the world but I'm shifting it again. I was much happier at 8st 5lb and that's where I'm aiming with plenty of walking, no eating after dinner and sticking to a calorie limit.

Anyway, I figured many of us are in the same boat and losing weight for Christmas and are perhaps starting to fantasise about what we will eat at Christmas/over the festive period. I always really look forward to it but then don't have much out of the ordinary.

So I thought I'd start a thread where we can post what we are looking forward to and help with the cravings perhaps. A kind of proxy feast until we enjoy our actual Christmas feast.

My craving last night was nuts. I can't stop at a portion and would eat the entire bag so nuts is the first item on my festive list. Not very exciting perhaps but honey roasted cashews it is.

Chocolate Yule logs. I love that chocolate frosting.

Thanks to hearing about them on the bargain thread in the Christmas section, I am now the proud owner of a Quality Street cracker filled with coffee creams. Xmas Grin I've had three today which for me is SOOOOOOOOOOO restrained! lol

I went to a work lunch yesterday and it was all festive. I am pretending like I don’t like mince pies especially the iced ones.

I am not going to feast at Xmas as boring as that is, I am working on willpower and not eating until I want to burst so I will enjoy myself but not in a binge eating way. I look forward to vegetables with gravy 👀😂

Oooh iced mince pies! I'll add some of those to my festive food stash.
I certainly won't be "binging" or eating until I'm fit to burst. I'll just be enjoying festive food. We don't have a starter with Christmas dinner and usually don't even have any kind of pudding or dessert because we are full.until later on. Christmas dinner is usually just a load of veg, cranberry sauce and stuffing. I don't like gravy. We might have wine but maybe not. I might have a nut roast this year but most likely a quorn roast. It probably sounds very boring to some.

Coffee cream quality street? Have these always been a thing? I don't think I've ever heard of them!

Mine is chocolate. Lots of chocolate. Bailey's chocolate, chocolate Santa, chocolate reindeer. Give it all to me.

@pumpkintits I think they were a thing and much missed by those who liked them. I'm still mourning the toffee deluxe. I like chocolate but I find it rarely hits the spot these days. I've recently discovered Fortnum and Mason library bars. I've only tried the champagne one but it was delicious and much better value than the truffles. £6.95 a bar means I ration it. I'd rather have quality over quantity. Mostly😁 I have a selection of bars in my basket awaiting pay day.

Chocolate is chocolate to me. Xmas Grin I don't know if it's because when me and my siblings were kids my mum would take us to the market to buy 'cheap chocolate' for Christmas. The knock off smarties would have to be shared out in colours to make sure no one got more then the others. Siblings! Xmas Grin

I do like chocolate, but for me it's cheese .

ALL the cheese. Stiltons and roqueforts, Camemberts and bries, the strongest cheddars and softest goat's cheese.

With biscuits, cucumber, and cherry tomatoes.
