Smart scales showing weight change only?

I've seen adverts for scales that only show you your change in weight, not your actual numbers. They seem to be a thing in the US, but none of them are available in the UK.

Is there any way I can do this with a smart scale? I've seen a lot of smart scales that llink to apps on your phone, but do any of the apps have something where you can just see weight trend / change over time without having to look at the actual weight numbers?

(For background: I get very demoralised because I'm starting at such a high weight. Seeing the 'actual' figures every time I step on the scale just reminds me how far I have to go. Does anyone else feel like this?)

Yes!

I'd love a set of these scales.

How does this work if the scales are showing slightly heavier, not through gain as such but normal fluctuations? You'd then have to calculate whether you lost anything that month?

I don't mind calculating the monthly change myself, or even if the scales could just show the difference between my current weigh-in and last weigh-in. It's the actual number makes me so demotivated. I don't even mind fluctuations or no apparent weight change for a week or two, it's just the fact the scale reminds me I weigh mumblety-something stones each time!

I've tried changing normal scales from stones to kilograms to see if that number wouldn't "mean" anything to me, but unfortunately it does.

That sounds an interesting idea and something I could have really used a while ago.

If you can't get hold of them, have you thought about not weighing at all? I don't weigh due to psychological issues with weight and figures, and I've become more in touch with my shape and body by observing things like how my clothes fit, how much my belly is bloated, how much fat I can grab in certain places etc.
