12lbs in 12 weeks (menopause)

I got down to 12'4 for a wedding early July but have crept up to 12'12 over the summer.
We take my daughter to uni on Saturday which I am kind of dreading and being sad is likely to make me eat so I want to make a commitment and get back in the mindset and back to the gym to avoid this.
I desperately want to get under 12 stone by the end of the year as that will mean I've lost 2 stone this year and it would be nice for my daughter to see a difference in me when she comes home for Christmas.
There's every chance I won't achieve this as I am menopausal and even shifting a pound takes huge amounts of effort and discipline on exercise and diet. I'll never lose a pound every week, but I want to try and give it a go.
Happy for the 7lb in 7weeks pre summer ladies to join me here and get back on the wagon if you fancy it.

I am definitely up for this! I weigh in kilos and want to lose 10kg! Not going to do that by Christmas but really want to make a good start. My DC also goes to Uni on Saturday so I completely understand the emotions that go with that, though I am also excited for them!

And since hitting the menopause I have found it really difficult to maintain / control my weight but I really just don’t want to accept that this is it now!

I'm pretty sure I'm well into peri and without changing much about diet or lifestyle have crept up loads over the last year. Need to lose 20kg to be back in usual lifelong comfortable weight range so I'm in!

And under 12 stone by Christmas/end of year is my same ball park of first target too. Over 13.5 at the moment. All time biggest ever, heavier than during either of my pregnancies. I look best at 10-10.5. But 11 would be fine and achievable if I can lay off the snacking and the wine and move a bit more. Wfh has been part of the problem, although it's made the rest of my life much better.

Hi everyone! That's cool you guys are up for having a crack at this. I'm supposed to be not drinking most of the week but my throat is constricted a lot this week like I'm trying not to cry, which I'm not, but also if I properly think about DD going off to uni then it does make me cry, so have been having a gin in the evening to try and relax it a bit. Not sure if that makes me sound mad or a wreck or something. I'm not but this week waiting for dreaded Saturday has just been torture. I just kind of want it done so we can start the adjustment process. Anyway, tight throat so gin. Will try and cut that back next week. This week I am trying to be more conscious about my eating and cutting back on the snacks. Am planning on first trip to the gym in months and really hoping to see that first pound come off. Fingers crossed.
Good luck to you guys. Looking forward to checking in to see how you're doing. I find weight loss incredibly hard and frustrating so it's really nice to have some guys to share the woes with.

I hit my first very mini target today by getting under 75kg :) I had told myself that was the first step and that I was never going back there! Probably will tomorrow with weight fluctuations but it has made me super motivated for today!
I am also aiming to close all the activity rings on my watch every day which I have done every day so far this month. I follow Emma Storey Gordon and Chloe Madely and they both really know their stuff and make sense so I am aiming for a small deficit which is maintainable long term, lots of walking (have a dog so this is pretty easy) and a few weight sessions per week.

@AdventureTravelDreamer Well done! Getting a good start and feeling motivated is super useful to keep on track. I really struggle with that when I go several weeks with no change. Keep going!

Hope the weekend wasn’t too stressful @Z0rr0 and that you have managed to keep on track - mostly!! Some wine here but still mindful of food and lots of steps 😁
Momday morning motivation strong atm, hopefully it will last!!!

Thanks @AdventureTravelDreamer. It was emotional that's for sure and we have felt quite sad all week, but she is in regular contact and that is helping.
I held off posting because I was four ounces off of achieving 3lbs down which is unheard for me so quickly.
But what with one thing and another I didn't make the three, so I will take the two pounds as a win, coupled with lower calorie eating, less snacks, less drinking and more walking. And I made it to the gym for the first time in a few months.
So on the right track.
My biggest hurdle now is I need better will power to stop myself from snacking late evening.
