Is Weight Watchers any good? x

Ive posted here for traffic because the weight watchers thread seems quite quiet.

I have 3st to lose and I keep trying low carb which I find difficult to stick to so I'm looking for something else.

Please can I ask if anyone has had any success with weight watchers recently? I understand they change their plans quite often and wasn't sure if it's any good now.

Or is calorie deficit the best way to go?

I find it easier if I'm following something and being accountable and not kidding myself.

Any help would be much appreciated x

I was a success story in 2009 Grin tried it this time and got a refund. I read the book "why we eat too much" and understood why diets fail and what to do instead! There's an active thread on here

I think it's the most successful group weight loss group out there. To the point that the NHS were going to fund some places.

I was very impressed when I read that, but then looked up what 'successful' meant and it was along the lines of ' of the people who stay on the course for a year 50% reach their goal weight and of them 50% keep it off for a year'! That won't be entirely accurate but it was along those underwhelming lines.

But it dies work fir sone people. I thi k you have to try lots of regimes to find one that works for your mind and body then be prepared to try something else when things change.

Calorie deficit is a very outdated concept these days. Yes you'll lose weight on 1200 calories a day but is it successful if you can't maintain that new weight or you wreck your health in the process?

Fasting and low carb have better science behind them and seem more likely to make changes you can stick to. Just eating real food with no overly processed foods and chemicals can make a huge difference to your weight and health.

Good luck with finding something. Try to think of it as an experiment, you try something and it doesn't work then it wasn't right for you so you try something different.

I also need to lose at least 3 stone minimum to reach the NHS requirements for our only funded IVF cycle. I have had success with WW in the past so can confirm it works. I actually re-joined online yesterday in the hope of finally getting rid of my weight!
