I'm massively struggling with cravings and just eating when I don't need to and its a terrible habit I'm desperate to break.
I have 2 young children so always on the go which probably doesn't help as I'm not doing proper set meals for myself as much as I'd like to so I just grab whatever I've got in the house.
I've stopped buying any junk food- crisps, biscuits, sweets etc but I always seem to find something to snack on.
I'm desperate to get on top of it and curb the snacking and lose weight and feel healthy and energised again.

I was thinking of trying intermittent fasting or no carb diet etc but no idea what to do. Any helpful tips would be much appreciated.

Do you have any childcare, or opportunities to cook when the children are not awake or not in the house? Batch cooking snacks might work for you. I came across a YouTube channel called The Meal Prep Manual, made by Josh Cortis.

The description from the channel:

"Meal Prep recipes to help you eat well, save money, save time, and complement your training."

Macros and calories are given for each meal. Particularly interesting, though, is Josh's idea of what he calls "Snack City"! He prepares decent, balanced snacks, making tens of portions of each snack at a time, and freezes them. His aim is to keep his freezer well stocked with healthy snacks that he can just pull out of the freezer and heat up in a couple of minutes. I thought this might appeal to you – you can snack, with ease, and it can still be healthy.

If you can find the time here and there, it might suit you to batch cook snacks and meals, then when you are short on time but still need to eat, you just pull something from the freezer.

Cortis also has a website: https://mealprepmanual.com/.

Another thing I'd say, actually, is to keep things simple, whatever weight loss method you decide to go with, and not try to implement too many changes or restrictions or impositions on your daily life all at once. For example, you might look at your daily life and think it's all a bit too hectic to start making big changes, but some small changes will be doable, maybe to ensure you drink two litres of water a day, or to have a glass of water before you eat.

Thank you so much for your tips!
So yes finally both my kids are in part time childcare so I have a couple hours twice a week on my own to get bits done so I will definitely look into some batch cooking/snacks etc.

Our meals at home are very simple each week and any leftovers (rarely) I freeze.

I will definitely start small with the weight loss and try to implement little steps to help me lose weight. I'm hoping to use my child free time to also start running a bit maybe or have a good walk to help me get in some exercise as walking with 2 little children is very slow 🙈
