On holiday stays tall inclusive and want to relax but also on diet pre holiday. Got about four stone to lose distill going be overweight on holiday.
I find it difficult on holiday as at home I would weight everyday or scan codes with something like nutra check/similar.
Can't get scales out in hotel restaurant.
Also want to enjoy holiday in way and not worry but don't want to be even bigger on return.
I'm 14st one 1 today And down for next three weeks to try and lose five or so pounds.
Appreciate any advice.

Holidays are the one time you're legally mandated to not give a fuck about calories. Just go swimming or walk a bit more instead of spending the whole time on the sun lounger. Don't stress about it because stress increases cortisol which makes it harder to lose weight.

Cakesandbabes · 08/08/2023 12:55

Nope. I usually mkve way more so actually even lost weight on holidays!
Don't record but obviously don't over eat. Some breaks are really good mentally so remember that

kitsuneghost · 08/08/2023 12:59

Just do lots of walking/swimming and make healthier choices
I wouldn't go weighing everything and obsessing over every ice cream.

If it is an All-Inclusive, there will be salad bar and grilled meat and fish. Don't count but don't lose the purpose and ignore the dessert table.

Nochoiceleft · 08/08/2023 18:29

Go and enjoy. There should be loads of lovely fresh fruit and veg available as part of each meal. Be sensible about how much you drink.
Don’t stress, have a lovely time.
When you get back do not dare beat yourself up if you have a little holiday weight. Just go back to your diet.

Cakesandbabes · 08/08/2023 18:30

Ignore the dessert table😱
Some I had were the best little buggers desserts I ever had. 😂
Just be reasonable with them

There are no calories on holiday. However - I usually try to stay off the bread and potatoes at the buffet. Seems to stop me from gaining.

BHRK · 08/08/2023 18:33

Don’t diet and have the odd naughty food but just don’t go overboard. Buffets are still full of fruit, veg, lean meats etc

Vegetus · 09/08/2023 05:58

Quickest way to ruin a diet and a holiday is trying to both at the same time.

Enjoy yourself, there's 51 other weeks of the year to diet.

Sugarfree23 · 09/08/2023 07:16

Just go easy around the desserts. The rest of the food is normally fairly healthy.

Girlintheframe · 09/08/2023 07:28

Dont track but do be conscious of what/how much your eating and drinking. Try to make good choices that are in line with your fat loss goals. Allow treats but don't go all in and go wild.
Be aware of how much your moving. Go for a walk, swimming etc.
Don't weight yourself for around a week when you get home (you will prob have gained but it will be water weight from change of food, flight etc). Just get yourself right back into your routine.

bluestrawberri · 10/08/2023 11:14

I've just ate a twix and double Kit Kat sitting waiting for my oh!!
I'm really out of control with my eating.
I have no clothes for holiday as too tight.
My fault so can't moan only at myself but sweet stuff is like a drug to me. Not good.

Honestly do count calories even on holiday. Weight loss should not be interrupted by anything, there's always a trip, an event, etc etc. If you really mean business, then be ruthless. I went on a 2 week holiday last year and even lost some extra weight as I was more active and keeping to my diet. Yeah it sucks but ultimately you will feel loads better upon your return! Good luck!

Pandaflop · 11/08/2023 08:21

You'll feel like crap if you eat just crap more than anything else. If you're forming habits to last a lifetime then yes eating a balanced diet is still important on holiday, and no, it doesn't have to be miserable or you don't have to be deprived and suffering to do so. Either eat reasonable portions or have a mixture, if you want dessert for example have something sweet but also some fruit to accompany it; both sugary but one will make you feel good and satiate you for fewer calories and the other won't- also less likely then to go back for second and thirds of something calorie laden.
