Best meal replacement (shake?) diet?

I want to shift two stone as quickly as possible. I've done Cambridge diet and lighter life but not for 10+ years. Are they even around? What's the best alternative? Would rather not have to join a club or something!

Calorie counting

Those shakes are nasty they taste like chalk then leave you absolutely bloody starving. If you can do it, go ahead, it's not for me.

What about just going total low carb?

sorepaw1 · 26/07/2023 23:53

If you find shakes helpful then personally i think huel is the best i have found, but i think calorie counting is best tbh. The shakes only work if you are in a calorie deficit and there are much better things i want to use 400 cals on!

I like Collaslim. Not at all chalky, nice flavours and leave me feeling full. Also has 5g collagen in a serving, so good for hair and skin.

I appreciate that this thread is old, so hopefully, some of you are still interested.

I have been on Lighter Life for a few months. It was reasonably successful and I shifted two stone. However, I am ready to come off it, not least of all because their customer service is woeful, there are payment issues with online ordering that they said 'there is nothing we can do' about (they can't figure out how to make sure the card's security code is captured properly), and they often leave things out of their parcels, which although they sort it eventually, is annoying. Plus it's bloody expensive. And it's ultra-processed and you can't face it after a few months.

HOWEVER, I haven't really thought ahead to transitioning off it. I already put 4 lbs back on just by being lax, so does anyone have any tips or hints about what I do next? I am thinking of just trying to eat lots of plant-based whole foods, but I haven't really translated that into menu planning. I might end up eating boiled eggs and mashed avocadoes at this rate. Can anyone offer a good approach to transitioning back to normal food without piling the weight back on?

I did Cambridge diet and lost 4st about 10 years ago. It crept back on and I went through periods of using Exante in half-hearted way. Exante have stopped trading now so I've moved onto The New You Plan.

I have to say, they have a great selection of meals and shakes. I'm just doing shakes as that's my preference, and they taste good. They mix really well and don't taste chalky. I'll call that a win. I'm in week 2 now and have already dropped 23lbs.
