Hi all, I've just had a baby 6 weeks ago and I'm really not happy with my extra junk in my trunk!
I am 5ft6 and usually 9stone something, I'm now 10stone9 and feeling pretty unhappy about it.

I eat granola for breakfast, egg or tuna sandwich for lunch with lentil/pea/multigrain crisps and a piece of fruit, and dinner is usually something like pasta and salad, or chicken with potatoes and veg/salad.
I've not been snacking the last few days, drank lots of water and been going for walks - is this enough for the pounds to fall off? I'm soo hungry so I hope so x

I am still pregnant, so not doing anything too drastic, but I was putting on so much weight I started recording every morsel and since doing it, I am stable.
The pounds won't fall off if you keep eating crisps or other food that brings nothing but empty calories. I use cronometer. I started with MFP but I think some values are off.
Record everything for a week and when I say everything, I mean everything, even that tiny piece of cheese .
Are you breastfeeding? Some weight loss plans are not good for babies if you are.

I would say be patient. You're still very recently post-partum. Give it time and you'll get there. Sounds like you're not eating excessively at all. I think slow gradual weight loss after birth is the healthiest and most sustainable way to go. And as baby gets bigger you should be able to be more active than it's possible to be in the early days.

I felt exactly the same as you did at 6 weeks PP. I let myself enjoy food for the first 6 weeks then started to want to do some exercise so I did some gentle yoga sessions online for a bit, kept up with my walks, I love to cycle so I started doing some bike rides for pure enjoyment more than anything (do you have a bike or anything sporty that you really love to do?) And my weight fell off a bit. I must admit I already eat pretty well but still enjoy a takeaway and chocolate as well so I maintained weight for a couple of months despite the increase in exercise. In the end I uploaded the RWL app on my phone that specialises in fitness and nutrition for postpartum (any anyone else really) I started cooking some of the recipes and generally cut down on carbs and sugary stuff as much as I could, also cut my portion sizes and I started doing the summer shred fitness program on the app. That was about 2ish months ago and I'm now about a stone lighter and still going with the fitness programs and changes to my diet/portion intake. If you can do this and keep consistency the weight will start to fall off. I don't even need to stop eating chocolate or the odd takeaway I just eat well most of the time and watch portions and I keep nice and fit and I feel so much better now at 8 months PP. Also remember to take it easy on yourself and listen to your body if anything feels too much.

Are you breastfeeding?
I'm 9 months postpartum and only now starting to loose the weight, I put on 3.5 stone and I'm now a stone lighter.
When you breastfeed you body releases a chemical to change your metabolism in order to preserve fat stores and to ensure you don't burn it off, this is our bodies way of protecting our milk supplies. Until the babies start to rely less on our milk, our bodies will always prioritise their food, over our strive to lose weight. Flipping annoying. But you will get there, don't worry. It's just going to take some time.
If you aren't breastfeeding then have some patience your body is more than likely trying to heal from giving birth! Be kind to yourself.
