6 week holidays

I'm after any advice or tips on how to not eat everything in sight over the 6 week hols please??
I know it's willpower of not actually eating everything.. but we tend to do a lot of packed /picnic style lunches for days out (which includes lots of things the kids enjoy like sandwiches, sausage rolls, crisps). I really want to try to not hoover up their leftovers all holidays and eat better.
Do any of you have any tips on what you do to curb the overeating please?

Are you hoping to lose or maintain?

To lose ideally

My advice would be to invest in yourself. Buy lovely food that you look forward to eating and don't even have a taste of anything else.

When I have a sandwich, I make it an amazing sandwich with loads of fillings. I'd have my own standard size bag of crisps in my favourite flavour and loads of fresh strawberries, cherries, grapes, melon, etc. I'd also get myself a lovely drink a drink it from a proper glass (or a plastic wine glass if on a picnic).

I don't eat my child's leftovers, ever. I associate it with not being as worthy or important as other people, and it doesn't fulfil me.
I get that food shouldn't be wasted, but I don't feel that it should be me hoovering up bread crusts and the edges of pizzas just because there's a cost of living crisis. I deserve good food too.

I also don't have 'treat' food like ice cream, biscuits or cake unless I've done some sort of physical activity in order to 'earn it'.

People say I'm quite strict with my eating because I often refuse things, but I know what I have planned for later and I don't feel the need to please others (with regards to food) at social events.

Will Mumsnet flame me for this? I hope not, because it works for my physical and mental health.

Thank you so much, this is actually very helpful to me!! I do train 3-4 times per week but I'm not seeing great progress because I am the mum who does hoover up the sandwich crusts 🤦🏼‍♀️ But I will make a conscious effort this summer and I love your ideas of making something lovely but healthy for myself!
