Can I have some positive stories and support please?

Hi all,

I've finally decided enough is enough for the last six years my husband and I have had really terrible eating habits.

We have like takes aways 4-5 days a week because I made the excuse that we're busy, suffer with MH etc whatever excuse I could think of.

I'm 28 and I've told myself it's too late, I'll never get my body healthy and might as well just give up. It doesn't help I have a binge eating disorder.

The cost of this is absolutely ridiculous not to mention the affect it's had on our health, I've put on four stone in these six years.

We have two young children and I want to be around for them, be active with them and I really genuinely want to make a positive change.

Please can I have support with people who've changed habits and have lost weight, become healthy at an older age and how much it was worth it please.

Thank you x

Hi OP, I think you've done the hardest part and decided to make a change.

I did the same at Christmas. I ate and drank far too much and realised that I needed to sort my health out before I went downhill. Since then I've lost 3 stone and am about 4lbs from being my target BMI. I feel SO much better, have more energy and am more confident. I was suffering with painful joints and wheeziness and all of that has gone. None of my old clothes fit so I've got a whole new wardrobe, right down to underwear. If someone had told me on Boxing night that by the end of June I'd feel so healthy and happy I'd never have believed them. You mention about being older well I'm nearly 60.

Good luck, it's really worth it.

I wouldn’t class you as old at all!
i lost 4 stone after having my child. But I think what I enjoyed the most was having the energy and strength to run around playing and doing stupid stuff.
as above everything just becomes easier, no loss of breath carrying shopping, increased mobility etc
i joined the gym and tried all sorts of classes, started off on the easier ones but after a few months started pushing myself and now there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a hard core work out.
remember life gets in the way, sometimes whe you miss a week or two that doesn’t mean you give up….you just get back on with it
