Slimfast alternatives

Help! I started using slimfast milkshakes for breakfast as an alternative to my carb heavy cereal. Unfortunately it's giving me really bad stomach cramps and diarrhea. I don't seem to get the problem if I have it for lunch, presumably as I then already have something in my stomach, but I already eat a healthy lunch and don't want to swop it out.

Online searches suggest it may be to do with the sweeteners they use (it isn't the milk as I already use loads). Has anyone got alternative suggestions that don't include those sweeteners? I'm looking for about the same price point and ease of use.

Thanks you!

Following with interest. I think you’ve hit the nail on the head snd are correct in your assumption about the sweetness.
Slim fast is sooo sweet, I can't bear it.
My daughter had terrific success a few years ago with Lipotrim. (Ask Mr Google.) I think it’s still available and as far as I remember, not too sweet.

Lipotrim looks good but Denmore than I can afford. Slimfast is about £0.50 per meal lipotrim is minimum £1.25.

I get these from Asda and like them. They're not too sweet either.

Carb heavy? Two slices of Hovis Granary Wholemeal Bread has the same amount of carbs.

Have 40g porridge with protein shake and water, all blended together after soaking oats overnight

@Binglebong you are asking for alternatives?

Binglebong · 11/07/2023 21:51

Oh sorry typo. Eat eggs*.

Binglebong · 11/07/2023 22:25

Thanks, I'm easily confused!

Eggs take a bit too long to prepare. You cannot overestimate the blearyness of me in the morning. Simple is required.
