addiction to sweeteners

hi everyone im wondering if anyone has a known or unknown addiction to sweeteners in soda drinks?
im now thinking i have an addiction, i always loved full sugar sodas, especially when i lived in hot countries, i managed a few years ago to make the switch when the 'zero' drink came out and now can't face a classic coke or sprite etc. but. now i only drink zero drinks. i take them to work, store my spare fridge in them so i always have a variety, i'm especially stuck just now on zero tango dark berry. and i will drink at between 5-8 of these a day.
i hate water, drink it only if i'm desperate, and
the thot of having diluted when i really want a fizzy drink well just eugh lol.
bit now i'm thinking i really do have a problem with this and have been reading about the downside of sweeteners.
just wondering has anyone else been in this position as bad as me and what you did to get off it all and stop wanting it x

I currently drink 2ltrs of PepsiMax a day. Blush I find lately I even crave it when I'm in bed getting off to sleep. Anyway, I would rather have that, and get a sugar free hit, than pig out on chocolate, cakes, etc etc. It's my substitute for sweet stuff and will do for now. Besides, I don't know what else to drink! I don't drink hot drinks and really don't like water. Juice has lots of calories in it and it's bad for your teeth.
I have stopped before but I had to go cold turkey. Wasn't very pleasant, raging headache, feeling down, etc.
I hope you manage to come off it, if you want to, and if you do, let me know what you've found! Grin

The acid in fizzy drinks is terrible for your teeth. My dentist was concerned about my 3 cans of diet coke a day habit many years ago. Being pregnant with ds caused me to vomit if i had sweeteners and now i don't touch diet sodas. occasionally I'll have a regular soda but they give me hiccups most times. I drink them so rarely i forget about the hiccups until i take that first sip and bam! I drink mainly water. Iced water where possible. My skin and health have improved significantly. Have you tried to slowly wean yourselves off to minimise the headaches etc?

total same as
me, in bed at night, and like u
it's my only thing, don't eat too much crap(altho good weather just now i have been eating ice cream like it's going out of business) but generally don't eat chocolate, crisps etc, maybe one a week max, when i'm at work the juice gets me
thru my shift when everyone else grabbing the chocolate etc.
but
i do
get it the bad effects and i do think i
can't sustain it either
cost wise. i'm thinking i will cut in half over this week and see what else i can do, iced water for sure but soo hard in my work to get it and i literally swig it and it's done it's not a
treat as
such x i i'll let u know how i go and side effects etc x
