How to shift my rubber ring belly?

Hang on I'm just going to describe my body shape.

So I'm 5ft 2 and I weigh 9stone 13. My legs are slim and I love them. My breasts are a C cup BUT my lower belly / hips are so fat compared to the rest of me. It's like a flesh coloured rubber ring (sorry). My belly sticks out much further than my breasts.

Anyway, I'm all confused and was wondering if anyone else had the same issue?

I gave birth 9 years ago. Deffo not pregnant but maybe Peri. I run 5km x 2 times a week and row x 4 times a week.

I also plank everyday...and do the usual 10k steps etc

But how to get rid of my weird belly / wobbly hip area? I look so ununusual.

I usually eat about 1300 calories and I'm relatively low carb but not completely. I feel like I'm missing something here 😂

Sorry, but it’s not really possible to selectively lose weight. If you eat less processed food or try an elimination diet you might be able to reduce bloating. Otherwise it’s just normal weight loss and hoping it goes from the places you want it to.

I don't really eat much processed food. Thanks though :)

I am similar shape to you. Every time I lose weight it seems to go from my non existent boobs first and the spare tyre stays put.
So frustrating.

Diastis rectii? I have it after having four kids, and short of having surgery, it will always be there I think.

Weights

Whatt · 13/06/2023 15:55

You need to lift heavy weights so that you can build some muscle and have a higher metabolism. At 1300 cals and working out you are not eating enough.

Its sounds like you have a "Stressed Sparrow" body type.

This web page explains it better.

I don't think I have drastic recti! I just had a little poke and followed a YouTube.

Stressed Sparrow!! Never even heard of it. I'll do some Googling.

I'm pretty strong from rowing so I reckon I'll enjoy weights!! Thank you :)

I have the exact same issue but I don't have a child to show for it! I often just look at my abdomen and wonder why it's all there.

I'm happy with my legs etc. and worry that losing more will really age my face.

I'm thinking about liposuction or fat freezing.

Unfortunately like a previous poster has said, you can't spot reduce fat, your body will hold on to it in certain places depending on your genetics. It sounds like you are an apple shape, which means your waist/middle is the first place you gain weight and likely to be the last place you lose weight.

I'm a pear shape which means I have a slim waist, but gain weight on my thighs and hips easily, and again it's the last place I lose. I even have lost a few inches off my waist and have some nice abs going on because I've been doing a lot of core work in Pilates, but still my thighs are wobbly - very annoying.

I'm not sure what the answer is really, other than losing body fat generally and building muscle. Also, for certain people, eating carbs can give them bloating so it could be that.

KETO will whittle that right off

Londoncallingnananana · 13/06/2023 20:10

Well I've just been to the gym. Apparently im not as wibbly as i think i am! They also recommended Keto & doing more weight training. 😊

I just need to move more and sleep better. I have gorgeous legs, ass, nice boobs and toned arms. So I'm quite proud of my body!

Just a small middle niggle.....

Thanks everyone!
