Hi
I started on ozempic last week Wednesday on .25. I've had saxenda before but it wasn't great so stopped it. So far I saw a definitely appetite dip for the first 3/4 days but now I feel hungry. I had some side effects but nothing awful and they have subsided. Would I be ok to up the dose and see how I go? I'm perhaps being impatient but wanted to see what others have done. I

Has anyone gone up from 0.25 to .5 after one week?

Any advice would be appreciated. Xxx

Ozempic isn’t all about appetite suppression. It has effects on insulin/blood sugars and mimics a hormone that often doesn’t work well in people who are obese.

The manufacturer recommends four weeks on 0.25 as an introductory dose. That is how the drug was trialled.

The drug has a half life so at the end of week one you actually still have half of your initial 0.25 dose in your system. Then you take 0.25 again and at the end of that week you have have of the cumulative dose in your system and so on.

One of the suppliers - I think it was Manual - was recommending a fibre supplement called glucomman to be taken in the second half of the week to help with any hunger. Also make sure you are eating lots of protein.

Also due to the current shortages of the drug I would be trying to stay on the lower dose as long as possible.
