I've finally decided I'm ready to start focusing on my physical health and one of the main things for this is losing some weight. I'd also like to try for a baby in the next year or so.
I've put on approx 30kg in the past 2-3 years due to one of my medications I'm on and most likely PCOS. It seems I only have to look at food and I put weight on.
Anyway there are some changes I've been making in my life so far. I've started by cutting out snack, eating more fruits and eating 3x meals a day- my problem is I'm usually a snacker or grazer. I don't like a lot of veg due to sensory issues like smell, texture, taste etc but this is something I'm working on
I've already lost 4kg so far (in three weeks) but I'm going to start with my weight as of today.
SW: 132kg (31/05/23)
GW: 75kg
I want to give myself two years to lose this slowly and be able to maintain a realistic calorie intake along with starting some exercise- I must use my Fitbit more.
So how do I plan to do this?
- I've started using saxenda which helps suppress your appetite and I remain on the lowest dose as I've found this is enough to curb the cravings and feeling of being hungry.
- One of my ADHD meds also suppresses my appetite so I'm hoping these two combined will be beneficial.
-Another medication I've just started is Metformin for my PCOS so that may be interesting to see if this may be beneficial to my weight loss once it kicks in.
I'm also going to do some fasting- I find the 16:8 works best for me and will aim for a calorie intake of 1600 per day. I will use the lose it app to track my calorie intake.
So there are a multitude of factors which hopefully will help me along the way. I'd like to aim to lose 1kg per week, any more would be a bonus!
Slowly but surely, I'm positive I will get there in the end. As mentioned previously, I'd like to try for a baby once my weight is under control- ideally I'd like this to be around Dec-Feb time this year/next. I know I won't be at my weight goal by this time but if I stick to the above, I could maybe maintain my weight along the way.
I will use this thread to update any daily/weekly progress and will see how I get on.
If anyone would like to join me on this journey feel free!
