5'3" find it so hard to lose weight

As the title suggests I'm not very tall and as a result I find that it's really easy to eat more calories than I burn.

I'm a TA so I'm on my feet most of the day day and I do 18:6 fasting as well. I don't eat processed food and I do weights twice a week, Pilates twice a week and also walk the dog 4 times a week. I'm peri menopausal.

My height gives me a TDEE of 1775 so but I don't really like to calorie count. When I do though it's just very easy to go over that so I guess I'm eating more than I should.

I've tried Keto but it makes my heart rate go up loads so I really don't like it.

What am I doing wrong? What else can I do?

I think maybe rejigging how you think about it might help? I have PCOS, which means I need to eat more carefully than other women my height/activity level. I used to think 'thats so unfair - why can they eat more than me?' but actually this was really unhelpful. Don't compare yourself to other people! You are you, and you are unique! Eat for you, and ignore everyone else ☺️
I'm 5'4", so exactly average for a UK woman, but I have no idea how many extra cals that 1" allows me to eat than you! But it's probably actually less for me than you (unless you have pcos too, or similar).
Very long winded, sorry! Just trying to say, forget comparisons, find your happy food level for loss or maintenance, and go for it 👍

It'sbad news but the TDEEs are too much. I eat 1400 per day, walk an hour a day, make all the right choices, avoid sugar, and still I am not losing weight. I'm low carb but not keto. I'm no BAD carbs.

Granted I'm only 5'1" and in my 50s, but ... I did two monks fasts recently. A 36 hour fast followed by 1600 calories the next day. I felt very well fed the next day. You eat the extra calories the day after a fast but you also walk them off. I lost half a kilo in the week I did the 2 monks fasts.

So I'm going to do the same next month, as 1400 is only maintaining for me. I am not hungry because I eat v healthily but I do not want to lower my metabolism and apparently, the monks fast is good for resetting metabolism but not slowing it down.

if your'e eating your TDEE you will maintain your weight - you're giving your body all the energy it needs.

To lose 1lb, you need a deficity of 3500 calories, so to lose 1lb a week you'd eat 1200 calories per day to get your 500 calorie per day deficit.

When you are short you have to be really precise - i'm shorter than you with a lower allowance. You get used to it. Sucks to not be able to eat as much as taller people but that's just how it is. I weigh my food, count every drink, everything that goes in my mouth. It's just what I have to do but it works perfectly if I follow it.

I find it really helps to lift weights and get some cardio in 3 times a week.

In yoir situation I would try fasting. Try starting with 16:8 (there is a good thread on here). If you find that to hard try 14:10 and cut out any evening snacking. I mix it up occassionally with a longer fast/one meal a day which really helps with weight loss.

Make sure in your eating window you are having lots of healthy fats and protein and reduce starchy carbs (potatoes, bread, rice and pasta). Don't buy low fat food or any ultra processed foid, just whole foods and you will feel a lot less hungry.

Tbh you say you hate calorie counting but it works. I'm 5ft2 and lost 40lbs in the past year. I'm 10lbs away from my goal. I eat 1350 a day and go to the gym or run 4times a week. It's not hard once you get into it. And I don't feel hungry most days.
