Am seriously considering joining WW online-can anyone tell me what you get for the £30 joining fee?
Do you get a pcket sized book of points or anything or is it ALL online?

I never paid a joining fee with ww - wait till they do a free membership thing, they tend to do it every couple of months!

Whooosh · 20/02/2008 15:44

Oh blimey-if I wait another couple of months I will have even more to lose

It's all online - but it is quite good. I used to be on it all day at work religiously entering everything I ate. No wonder I'm not working there now!

moleymo · 20/02/2008 15:51

Basically doing it online means you have access to all the points system so you can just log all of your food and exercise on a daily basis. You don't get sent anything - it is all online.

I tried both online and meetings and found that the meetings worked for me as it was the actual physical act of handing over the cash which acted as the 'carrot'!

Good luck!

Whooosh · 20/02/2008 15:55

Oh bum-I really can't have my pc attached to me when out so how the hell do I know how many points I am eating?

Have a stone to lose before April 10th (the big 40)although would really like to lose 10lbs more.

Just doen 2 and a half weeks of the India Knight dieat and have fallen off the waggon spectacularly-just not the diet for me.

You can buy an points calculator from the WW shop online, or from eBay - only a fiver or something.

I really liked WW online - first time I'd ever done any kind of diet like that, and lost 2 and a half stone last year, and kept it off.

Couldn't face the meetings myself, much preferred to do it by myself.

Celery · 20/02/2008 16:02

funnily enough, I tried India's diet just before WW, and it didn't work for me either! WW definately definately did

moleymo · 20/02/2008 16:06

Why don't you go to a meeting and get all the resources then see how you get on.

Basically there are two systems - one where you have a list of 'free' foods that you can't eat anything off and then you have a limited number of points to use throughout the week for things that are not on the list. V easy to do esp when you know what you can have.

The other system is the traditional points system which I found ok, but poor memory meant that I didn't include all my points so wasn't really doing it properly!

You'll easily be able to lose a stone by your birthday!

I would really recommend ww. i have lost lots of weight on it over the last couple of years AND most importantly I am managing to keep it off!

Don't pay to join - use the voucher thing. They do give you the books you need when you first sign up. You can also buy additional books with things like restaurant points / named brand shopping products in.

Whooosh · 20/02/2008 16:31

Oh thank you all-I do think it is probably the best diet to go for.
Shame about the India Knight on-My SM has lost 22 lbs in 6weeks on it and I didn't lose an ounce last week despite following it to the letter.

Thanks for the meeting voucher-really not sure I could face a group though......

I thought I couldn't face a group too but once I went once it was fine - I just used to go to the weigh in at the start of the meeting and never had time to stay for the whole meeting as I used to go in my lunch hour! The leaders are generally v friendly and helpful.
