I've started reading the book - have reached the rules.

So - now I'm a bit peckish but I have to go to the gym in my lunch hour and usually have my lunch afterwards.

I'm not revenous but haven't been hungry yet today so have not eaten.

Can anyone give me some support on how it works - anyone been successful on it?

I did this a while back and was v sucessful on it but then thought that it was a miracle and started eating loads and back to square one.

I think the time has gone now to answer - what did you do?

I think wait slightly longer han peckish but start then thinking about what you want to eat so you are ready with your meal when your ready to eat.

Good luck. I want to start again but need to get my head back in the book.

Hi sweetheart - I'm trying to do this at the moment too. I have been having erratic progress though as I don't get to listen to the cd very often. I have been eating when I'm hungry rather than starving. But then stopping as soon as I am starting to feel full. It's tough to eat slowly though as I have two small children and we are still in the stage where mealtimes are like a race to get food down our throats before the baby kicks off and dinner is over!!

I did the thought thingy where you can stop yourself from ever craving a food again and that really worked fantastically for me! I wanted to stop eating crisps and since I followed the instructions I have no interest in them at all. They just don't even occur to me as a food choice anymore...

Hope the gym was good!

sweetheart · 20/02/2008 15:37

Thanks for the responses. I didn't eat then went to the gym (which was ok thanks fraggle). Trouble is when I got back from the gym I wasn't hungry. Then I got hungry about 3pm and had some fruit so now I probably won't want my tea!

I know what you mean about mealtimes fraggle - I have 2 kids too so savoring every mouth full is unlikely to happen. I'm also worried about this "eat what you like" thing becuase what I would like to eat is cream cakes, take aways and other really fatty stuff!

I've only got about 1/3rd through the book so have yet to do any mind training things. I did listen to the cd last night but I fell asleep - at least I think I did - maybe I was hypnotised. i know I'll only get to listen to it about once a week - is that enough?

I only brought the book yesterday so I'm really new to this, I have followed ww for the last 2/3 years so it's hard to break free from counting points.

I was thinking of getting hypnotised - worth it do you rekon?

I have just started reading the book too! I have listened to the CD once but have downloaded it onto my ipod which means it will be easier to listen regularly. Would be interested to hear your progress!!

Think myself thin mmmm so, if when eating a humungous bar of chocolate, I think to my self this is a lettus leaf?

bohemianbint · 20/02/2008 15:45

I tried this - the eat what you like but only as much as you really need thing. Put weight on!

sweetheart · 20/02/2008 16:20

See the thirst thing gets me too - if you have to drink every time you think you are hungry I fill up on water and never feel hungry - that can't be right shurly!

I think the idea behind being able to eat what you want has 2 benefits from what i can see.
Firstly I don't know if it's just me that does this, you really want to eat something like a bag of crisps. You think no I can't they're bad so you have a apple. Still thinking about crisps so not satisfied so you have a yogurt.. then a biscuit.. then you have the crisps anyway.
Secondly because you can eat whatever you want you stop thinking about food all the time and it has less power and then having a cream cake maybe just maybe starts becoming not as appealing.

I think hypnois (sp?) is a good idea would be intrested to hear from anyone who has done this. Saw supersize/superskinny the other night and a journalist tried it and it seemed to work for the week they filmed her.

With the drinking maybe that's the idea. I think I read somewhere our bodies can't tell the difference between hunger and thirst.

How are you going today?

sweetheart · 21/02/2008 16:45

terrible today - had a friend for coffee and ended up eating my own body weight in choc brownies! I haven't finished reading the book yet - think it will take a couple more day, so I'm going to start it properly from Monday. My main problem is the eating slowly bit - I tend to eat lunch at my desk at work and my dinner whilst sorting the kids so savering every mouth full isn't high on my priority list.

I'm also wondering if this scheme will take enjoyment out of food - how will you indulge in a cream cake if your not hungry?!?!?! I genrally only get hungry twice a day (lunch and dinner time) so does that mean I loose all my favorite snacks. I know that is sort of the point AND how you loose weight but I'd hate to loose my love of food with it!

I saw that supersize / superskinny program and thought that looked like a great idea! I was so impressed when she stood there sniffing the fresh bread and just wasn't interested...

I think you should enjoy food even more if you follow this plan properly, as you will only eat when you are hungry, you should (hopefully) really savour every mouthful. Fingers crossed!

I've put the cd onto my MP3 player and I do find it easier to listen to it. I tend to try to go to bed about 30 minutes earlier and listen to it in bed before I go to sleep.

lumpychump · 07/03/2008 10:12

Hi all, is anyone still doing this plan? I seem to be doing OK so far. Have listened to the CD every night for a week and being completely honest have lost all interest in chocolate!! It's amazing, my DP bought me a cadburys caramel egg three days ago and it is still in the kitchen - these are one of my all time favourite things and I just don't want it!! Noticed my work trousers feel a little more comfortable this morning too (not cutting off blood circulation as normal is what I really mean!).

Been on it for about two weeks, just seeing if anyone else is having success?

crimplene · 08/03/2008 20:04

I've been doing this since the begining of Jan. So far 1 1/2 stones . I too had a rough patch and found it very hard to stick too, so didn't lose any weight for a couple of weeks, but the thought of having to go on a proper diet if this doesn't work inspired me to get on with it so I've gone back through the rules and it's working agian. I tend to agree about the difficulty of savouring your food with a toddler, but I try to.

Sweetheart, the way I understand it is that if you're not hungry, it's a craving so you've got a choice between eating it and getting fat or finding a way to deal with the craving that doesn't involve eating. I'm enjoying my food more but I do have to save space at the end of a meal for a small amount of chocolate or whatever (so long as I actually want it then) or I'd feel deprived too.

RedFraggle · 11/03/2008 14:51

Well done Crimplene! I am struggling at the moment. Meant to be moving house in the next month and the stress is making me a piglet!
I haven't managed to listen to the cd for ages. I'm going to try again tonight and try to climb back on the wagon. On the plus side, I haven't put any weight back on - I just haven't lost any....
