How to keep weight under control in office job??

I started working in an office last august. I have put on 18pounds in that time. I know why. I have gone from being very active and having a job where I was on the go all the time to a job where I am literally sat on my bum all day. I have no time for the gym. I am up at 6am doing housework and getting my kids to school and then home for 6pm and I spend my evening helping my children with homework or humouring them, packing bags for next day shower tea and bed. My husband works away so I am on my own all week. I try and keep very active on the weekend with lots of walking to make up for it but the 8 hours a day sat on my bottom is not helping. I have psoriatic arthritis and can't afford to put on loads of weight. My joints are already worse for what I have gained. I eat healthy. But I know I can eat healthier and I wonder how other people manage. Is there a certain diet or routine you find helps you?

Can you walk to work? I also have an office job but walk there and back which comes to about 15,000 steps.
I also do 16/8 which helps maintain weight.

Can you get out for a walk on your lunch break? That's the only time I get to do any exercise on office days, I work on a business estate so it's not exactly scenic but does the job! And it's nice to get a proper break from my desk.

Do you have any stairs at work? Can you go up and down the stairs every half an hour?

I did this at work and lost a stone.

There's so much rubbish shared at work, sweets, cakes, etc. I think the only way to do it is to have nothing sweet in the day until you get home in the evening. Could you walk for 45 minutes at lunchtime and then come back and have a quick lunch?

People tend to bring food in as well which is irresistable

@SallyWD I wish I could we live remotely. It would be 3 hours walking each way and I drop my children off to school on my way to work as it's opposite my office.

I agree there is alot of food brought in which doesn't help. That's a good rule. Bo sweet stuff in work time! I do walk in my lunch hour. I am usually either running errands at lunch time or If I have a large workload I will eat my lunch whilst working. So yes I could take time out and go for a good walk

I have exactly the same issue with trying g to find time to exercise- ass a 2-3 hour commute to work and the same back. I'm out of the house for very long periods of time. I have a half hour lunch break where I have to eat as I've generally not eaten since 6am.

I know they aren't cheap but I have a peloton bike and it's brilliant for exercising at home. Could you get some sort of exercise equipment to use after the kids are in bed?
