Those of you who eat 2 meals a day...

Has anyone any experience with making those 2 meals you eat - Breakfast and Dinner.

I never eat breakfast as not hungry till lunch. But then 12-9 is some kind of mad hunger phase. Lose weight easily with low carb - but hunger levels (and sure, work/kids stress levels by 7 pm fairly high - so can eat whatever presents itself alas).

However - currently on work trip abroad (Nordic country) and hotel has fantastic breakfast buffet.

Loathe to waste "free" food - I've been having a high protein - low/no carb breakfast daily (smoked salmon, piles of veggies, high protein yoghurt, seeds of various kinds, cheese) - and voila - I haven't actually needed lunch - and only got moderately hungry when going out for team dinner with colleagues around normal dinner time. Have also not felt mad urge to snack at 9 pm. Have also been walking miles in rather hilly terrain.

I am now beginning to think - is this replicable when back home? Sustainable? Sure I am not "hungry" at 8, and my home spread wont look anything like this buffet - but if I can manage to gather good quality yoghurt, seeds, smoked salmon, cheeses - and properly tuck in before work/kids drop off - it looks like I can manage to not get overhwhelmingly hungry in PM where I develop the conviction that I somehow "deserve cake/carb/chips/insert whatever".

has anyone else done this?

(I am possibly getting unreasonably excited...)

It sounds to me like you are having quite a dynamic and busy time wherever you are in Scandinavia, compared to what life is like at home. It sounds fabulous. I'm very envious!

I often eat far less when busy and active and a lot of my snack consumption us just down to boredom. Could it just be that?

This sounds exciting. Definitely try it at home.

I haven't tried it before, but I usually eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. I snack out of stress and boredom- I'm an emotional eater. I also wonder if you're less hungry due to lower stress and less boredom.

That being said, I've heard good things about not skipping breakfast and making sure you get plenty of protein. Good luck, i hope it continues to work for you!
