Low cal snacks that aren't cold 🥶

Sorry, I think that this is going to sound weird.
I am trying to lose a few lbs by calorie counting with myfitnesspal. I am absolutely fine with main meals. But every low cal snack that I can think of comes from the fridge.
Yogurt, meat, fruit, boiled eggs- all cold.

I often have a warm drink instead but I'm really missing bread/biscuits/nuts etc that are not necessarily warm but aren't bloody cold.
Rice cakes just aren't quite cutting it.

Can anyone suggest anything else to try.

Just to say, I don't snack all day long but I do eat tea at 5:30 with the kids so need a snack before bed otherwise DH's arm may be at risk of biting while I am asleep.

Miso soup? The sachets are great to cart around with you. You’ll have to like the umami taste (I love it!) but each sachet is low in cals, warming and filling. I prefer savoury stuff

JamMakingWannaBe · 29/03/2023 22:51

I've no idea about the nutritional content but a microwave pot of baked beans for something savoury or a pot of Ambrosia custard or rice pudding is 30 seconds to heat in the microwave.

How about topping your rice cake with lime pickle or sweet chilli sauce so it's a spicy rather than a temperature heat?

Fruit that doesn't come from the fridge? Apple, pear, kiwi, banana, Satsuma. Popcorn. A crumpet or half a thin bagel is lower calorie than toast if you want something actually warm.

Mydaughterskeeper · 29/03/2023 22:59

This is exactly my issue!
Scottish oatcakes
cup a soups/soup in general
bananas
warm squash
toast & marmite

Just... don't keep them in the fridge? Assuming you're in the UK and not a millionaire who has the heating turned right up, everything you've mentioned will be OK at room temperature for a couple of hours at least. Get it out ahead of snack time.

Options hot chocolate

CoconutJamSpongeAndPinkCustard · 29/03/2023 23:16

I can't quite explain it but not in the fridge fruit and taken out of the fridge snacks aren't what I'm after.
I want something solid and warming.

Popcorn is a good idea, although I don't always know when to stop with it.
Thank you. There are some good possibilities on here.

Not warm or cold either but the hartleys 10 calorie jellies are lovely when you want something sweet.

Asummersday · 29/03/2023 23:18

Air fryer chickpeas?

TyneTeas · 29/03/2023 23:22

Low cal cup a soup and a cracker or breadstick or two?

Twopoodlesarebetterthanone · 30/03/2023 06:59

Marigold stock

bellac11 · 30/03/2023 07:02

I used to have a little pot and in it a mini baby bell, about 40g of dried prunes and 20g of nuts, sometimes a few cherry toms. Not cold as such, not warm either but much more satisfying that a cold bit of fruit or yoghurt

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 30/03/2023 07:03

Ready made bags of popcorn, so you do know when to stop! Those "crisp bags" of Propercorn that they sell as part of meal deals are about 100 cals.

Babybels - needn't be in the fridge

About 20 cashew nuts and grapes . If you up the grapes, then eat each nut/grape individually it takes ages and feels satisfying.

Alpenlight bars

Graze to a few lower calories boxes, less than 150 cal.

Dracuuule · 30/03/2023 07:08

Boiled eggs are hot when they're just done. Or egg any other way.
Some leftover dinner.
Soup
Porridge
Crackers with peanut butter

Are you talking about when you're in the house/office or out and about. I assumed you meant out and about.

Skinny crunch bars are good when craving biscuits. Cup soups are quick and filling. McCain microwave chips are under 150kcal a box.
