Losing the last bit of weight

Hello

looking for some advice. I was 13st 3lbs in July and now 10st 1lbs. My target is 9st 9lbs, however I am struggling to lose the last bit of weight. I am eating between 1000-1,200 calories, I have reduced alcohol consumption to a few glasses on a Saturday and I am doing between 15,000-20,000 steps a day and on exercise bike 30 minutes in the evening, any advice on how to lose the last 6 lbs

thanks in advance!

Well done, that's great!
Cut the wine. I think that a few glasses of wine on one occasion is classed as binge drinking in the UK but depends on what you mean by a few and how big those glasses are. Even so, give your liver a break and you'll cut hundreds of calories from your weekly intake. That might be enough to shift those last few pounds. You'll save money too.

Lift weights. It's now at the point where recomposition is more of a goal and a decision whether those last 6lb are really worth it

That is very low calories for pretty high activity levels. Congrats on losing the weight but now I'd ditch the cardio, up the calories and start lifting some heavy weights! Your body will change for the better!

I don’t think you’re eating enough at all. Have you thought about intermittent fasting ?

I agree that is the best way to go thank you

I did, but I had an earring disorder when I was younger so a little scared to try that

Given this information, perhaps you need to consider whether fixation on the scale number rather and already fairly restricted eating is perhaps a dangerous path

That's amazing! Well done. It's really hard to lose last few pounds. It's quicker to lose weight when you are heavy and then it slows down. I'm in a similar position. Weights sound like a good idea!

Hi OP, hope you are being as gentle with yourself as you can considering your history. I absolutely would recommend upping your calorie intake as it's very low, I understand that will be hard - I also had the same fear due to the same history but after reading a bit about re feeding and upping calories I decided to give it a go in my own way. I had a fri-sun weekend 'off' where I ate what I wanted - I didn't go overboard, just ate a few luxurious evening meals and breakfasts, nice snacks etc. Didn't calorie count. Then when I went back to 'normal' I increased my calories by 200-300 on top of what I had been aiming for previously. It has done wonders for me and I am still losing weight. Your workouts are just not going to be giving you the health benefits you want without higher calories - your body needs fuel to work with to power your metabolism and if you stay too low for too long you can get stuck.
