Digestive enzymes and weight gain

Not sure where to post this. Been taking digestive enzymes. My diet had been poor for a while and its now better but I thought I'd help myself along in hope it helped absorbing more nutrients in food. Over the past fortnight I've just felt I was getting fatter, I've put on 0.5 pound which is nothing really but visibly have more cellulite. It was getting me down as I am swimming, going to spin, doing pilates. Anyway I googled whether they cause weight gain and apparently they can increase fat absorption. I do eat a lot of avocado, eggs, olive oil, nuts, not excessive but enough for energy, as I am fairly low carb. Well there is my answer! I think I will stop them and see what happens. Anyone else experienced the same?

Avocados, nuts and olive oil are all really high in calories.

You're going to digest the enzymes anyway as they're a protein. Why not just improve your diet??

Oh I didn't really explain, I'm still about 9lb overweight so am trying to lose.

I'm not too sure what was going on, but have gone back to the Fast 800 diet for now which I did before my diet got bad, and this time will transition properly out of it.

9lb is probably within the really bloody hard to lose that last bit so might as well go to maintenance and lift weights category.

I'm overweight. About a stone to get rid of. But I'm not going to take digestive enzymes. My body makes those adequately. What I am going to do (well am trying to do) is slightly reduce how much I eat, keep moving, focus on protein and veggies. Do the same. Again and again. Watch the scale move, slowly, in the right direction. But I'm not going to do anything that requires a transition in or out, just scale back a bit. It's not fast, it hasn't got a trendy name, but it is going to get me there
