Low calorie diet and exercise?

Im trying hard to eat less (on saxenda) and managing to a reduced food intake, eating a high in protein diet with lots of veg.

However I'm really really struggling with my normal exercise classes, I eat something before going like an egg or banana or nuts, but just feel like I don't have the strength in me.

Any tips on low calorie but high energy food or do other people feel this too?

Thanks

You need carbs for exercise energy.

Before a workout, choose carbohydrates that are higher in fibre, so they release their energy slowly, and lean protein. For example, if you're exercising at lunchtime, have a porridge made with low-fat milk and some fruit, or egg on wholegrain toast for breakfast.

I eat low carb for the most part unless I'm going to the gym to work out. On those days, I eat slow release carbs in the form of a bowl of porridge or boiled eggs and a slice of wholegrain sourdough toast. I eat this a few hours before I my work out as this gives me enough time to digest it.

The rest of the time, my carbs come from leafy greens and vegetables that grow above ground.

If you stick your banana in a bowl of porridge you’d feel a lot better when exercising!
It isn’t sustainable for you to just eat a banana (or just egg or just nuts) and then work out, if you are feeling like you don’t have the strength in you to exercise you will soon give up. Like pp, have wholemeal toast with your egg, porridge with your fruit and/or nuts. You need the energy to work out.
