Middle aged skin and weight loss

I need to lose 4 stone. I'm 48.

I know i need to do it for my health (high everything) and I want to feel better.

This feels like a really trivial concern ...

Can I ask about your skin? I'm worried what will happen to my face (and stomach, boobs) if I lose the weight.

Am I going to look like a deflated balloon and is there a way to do something about it. Does losing the weight really slowly make a difference?

I have a friend who ended up having surgery on skin around her stomach after dramatic weight loss and I really don't want to do that.

Am I fretting over nothing?

I am just a bit younger than you and have lost 4 stone. Did it at 1-2 pounds a week.

I've been surprised how little loose skin there is and I just generally look better. The only really sad looking place is my bum and the tops of my thighs - but no-one except DH sees those anyway and he always thinks I look fabulous.

That's good to know.

Did you follow any diet in particular or just cut down.

I'm conscious I want something I can stick to, and not give up after a few weeks.

I've recently lost 4 stone and I'm in my fifties. I don't have as much loose skin as I expected to, to be honest. A little bit on my upper arms and a bit under my chin. But I'm much happier having lost the weight and I look better even with a bit of a turkey neck!
