finding it hard to get started... 4 stone to lose...

I had DS2 about a year ago, bf-ing put on a lot of weight, I'm finding it hard to shift even though I stopped bf 5 months ago. GI Diet helped a lot first time round losing weight after DS1, but I'm finding I'm eating still for comfort a bit especially when really tired from broken nights (warm puddings in the cold weather) and drinking wine 3 or 4 evenings a week to relax at the end of the day.

also a bit concerned that flappy mummy-tummy won't go, if I do lose a lot of weight I will have a really nasty spare tyre (rather than a still rather pg-looking tum)

any tips for kick-starting myself, without being really hard on myself either... I'm quite a food-lover and denying myself is not in my nature and I hate the idea of my eating revolving around weight loss

come join us on the 3 stone to lose thread... we will support you

WW is a good diet/ healthy eating plan

I've lost 11lb in a month on Weight Watchers, and I am a greedy foodie - I don't feel deprived very often, and really nothing feels quite as nice as zipping up jeans that wouldn't ever go over my hips before Christmas. I also had about 4 stone to lose.

Yes, Time4, we will support you. It's great. We are all in the same boat!

i have lost 8lb (i think) in 3 weeks, and already i can see a difference and thats just in my confidence......

and i am also obsessed with food badly

greyskythinker · 10/02/2008 19:52

Oh hello, can I join too? I have 3-4 stone to lose (although would be happy with anything). I am an avid reader of diet books, and love the psuedo science, but don't always manage to actually do what they say.

greyskythinker · 10/02/2008 19:53

Time 4 tea, has anyone asked you when your baby is due? I have. So disheartening.

time4tea · 10/02/2008 20:55

thanks ladies, I talked to a friend today and she recommended various GI possibilities, and I'll get the GI book recommended on another thread.

am very glad to join forces. DH was thinking of making me a graph of weight loss to motivate me but i'd rather just get on with it myself, as I'm a bit demoralised and thinking fairly often, oh f* you when he mentions my weight (I've had a baby and fed it everything it needed for 6 months FFS.)

what thread are you on Colditz?
