Fast 800 or Pinch of Nom?

Hi, any advice? I've never been a dieter and don't know much about it, but late 40s/early 50s post children I have piled on the weight.

2021 Valentines Day i started cutting calories using Pinch of Nom and very successfully shifted the 2 stone I needed to in 3 months. Felt great, was very happy to be back to my normal 9 stone weight. But but as they always say, it gradually crept back on. Well, to be honest after about 12 months I started eating badly again and not watching the calories. Comfort eating biscuits and toast and leftovers. And not monitoring it every day. And I severely cut down exercise due to pain in my hip and became very sedantry for the last 8 months. Now I am back up to the 11 stone and I want to shift it again.

Question is - Fast 800 or Pinch of Nom? Am thinking the Pinch of Nom took a lot of time to work out and monitor every day (weighing the food, writing it all in to My Fitness Pal but I did really like the food and it was easy once I got into it. OR do I do Fast 800 because its something new and maybe it will keep me more focussed and on track because of that? Other issue is I'm pretty broke so will the Fast 800 cost more if the food is fancier and is it important to subscribe or can you get the book and DIY but how much effort is that?
Thanks a lot.
x

@Studentforlife I don’t know anything about Pinch of Nom but from what I know about Fast 800 there are plenty of recipes and tips and discussions online, so I wouldn’t bother signing up. I found one of the recipe books in The Works for about £5 I seem to remember but I’ve ended up sticking it on the shelf with the rest of the cookbooks and just googling a recipe when I need one.

I’d say if you’ve lost weight before, you know what to do, it’s just a case of getting in the zone and doing it. I let bad habits slip back again and put back half the weight I lost, but I’ve nipped it in the bud now and working hard to lose it again.

Try and remember that feeling when you lost it. I definitely remember feeling more energetic, less bloated, better skin, sleeping better, getting compliments etc.

Good luck!

You just need to cut out the toast, biscuits et and stick to eating 3 times

Definitely but think I need more drastic help as well to shift the pounds. At 51 it seems to be pretty sluggish

@Studentforlife Do you think you actually need one of these diets? If you cut the biscuits and reduce the bread, cook delicious fresh food and perhaps reduce the hours in which you eat - eat breakfast slightly later and / or eat dinner slightly earlier, it may be enough. If you lose just 0.5kg per week you will hit your goal in the summer and the journey may be enjoyable.
