2 week smoothie detox - nonsense?

I bought a detox smoothie guide (cillas amazing smoothie detox) which consists of 3 smoothies a day plus 2 snacks (recommended snacks), there’s also an option to add a small meal but I was trying to do it without at first.

context: I’m 168cm and weigh 73.4kg as of this morning. I know in the grand scheme of things those numbers don’t appear too terrible but my weight prior to lockdown was around 57kg. Lockdown and the birth of dd2 9 months ago has just caused me to gain so much and I cannot shift it for love nor money. Despite healthy eating and walking 15k steps a day with added exercise whenever I got a chance (not very often admittedly) I did not shift any weight whatsoever. I’ve been tested for hyper/o thyroidism and both were clear. In fact my bloods are perfect apart from low vitamin D! I’m convinced breastfeeding is somehow making me cling onto the weight, although I didn’t have this trouble with DD1 4 years ago.

anyway I did day 1 today and feel utterly miserable. So hungry and just depressed that my weight can control me like this. I finally caved and ate two slices of brown toast and now feel like an absolute failure! I’m still living in my maternity leggings and my joints ache from the extra weight. I just hate the sight of my body now and nothing seems to help so I’m trying something fairly drastic to see if that helps. Im scared I’ll get to the end of the two weeks and just gain everything back! Is this a load of nonsense? What am I doing wrong in my usual non detox plan that I cannot shift this weight?!

I second what @romdowa said, I’ve only started a few days ago and when I brought it I instantly didn’t feel right replacing meals with high fruit content smoothies.. plus the disclaimer than your can get stomach pain and nasty symptoms when you have to ‘wean’ yourself off this diet is insane.

instead, I took the ‘shopping list’ for the light meal she suggests (seemingly begrudgingly) and will have smoothies to ‘replace’ breakfast (I don’t eat breakfast so smoothies are my breakfast now), have alight lunch of chicken/salmon salad/rice, a smoothie and some nuts between lunch and dinner then fast from 6pm, no eating until 8am.

I have been doing Cillas amazing detox, I was 2 stone overweight with an underactive thyroid, and my cholesterol was high. I was miserable. I started in November 2022 and by June /July 2023 I had lost 2 stone. I feel happier and healthier. I have kept the weight off by continuing to use the plan, although not as strict as I was.
The shakes are tasty and I included the small meal..... I've even got my husband having the odd smoothie, he does not eat fruit or veg.
