Eat less/better; move more

I have let weight creep on since DC, and would now like to lose 10 kilos, slowly and sustainably.

I am hoping to do this by:
eating better, so cutting out snacking and having vegetables for half of each plate,
moving more. Trying to fit in extra steps and swimming myself during DC lessons etc

I don’t own any scales, don’t have time to go to the gym, don’t want to calorie count, and want to model living healthily to DC.

If anyone else would like to join me, do post!

Good luck! Finally got around to setting up a treadmill in the Conservatory - hopefully the first step to having a small home gym. It's next to the kitchen, so my plan is to at the very least fit some 10 minute stints in whilst I'm waiting for food to cook.

Just thinking about meal planning more next year. I actually quite like healthy eating but my DH is the world's fussiest eater, so we normally end up ordering takeway when I can't face eating bland chicken and veg yet again. I'm thinking more tray bake type meals where I can add seasoning and eat a different protein to DH is probably the way forward.

Ten minute stints waiting for food to cook is a great idea.

do you have the Roasting Tin books? They are great for one tray meals

Thanks, I'd not heard of the roasting tin books, but I've just been online recipe book shopping and added the yellow one to my order as it looked interesting. Picked up a few Mediterranean cookbooks, as I used to eat more along those lines when I was a student and was slimmer (probably also because I walked more Haha)! I think Med. is generally considered to be quite a healthy way to eat, so hopefully it will be sustainable in the long term. I've done keto and calorie counting in the past to an extent, but I'm not convinced it's particularly healthy in the long run.
